Owners of a Vulcan 1700 Vaquero bagger have the best of both worlds. The traffic stopping great looks will make you smile every time you throw a leg over this blacked beauty. A frame-mounted, abbreviated fairing sets the stage while the swoopy tank leads the eye to the shapely luggage of this V-twin bagger. The multi-textured blacked-out engine and chassis treatment includes components (like the air-cleaner cover, wheels, fork assembly and tank cover) that would normally be chromed, leaving only a special few parts (engine guards, exhaust, mirrors, etc.) to receive plating and act as bright accents to either the Metallic Flat Spark Black or Two-Tone Candy Burnt Orange (SE model) paint. Key Features Blacked-out looks accentuate the lines and body shapes through the use of varied surface texture and subtle, contrasting highlights Sporty, one-piece saddle with low seat height emphasizes the classic, long, low bagger look Muscle car inspired instrumentation delivers essential info with style Powerful 1,700cc V-twin delivers impressive levels of torque and immediate passing power 6 gear transmission for effortless acceleration and relaxed cruising at highway speeds Electronic throttle actuation system combines optimized injector timing for throttle valve position, delivering accurate, powerful engine performance Kawasaki's sophisticated K-ACT II ANTI LOCK BRAKES system builds rider confidence by helping execute controlled, balanced braking Electronic cruise control maintains speed and reduces rider fatigue on long trips Stylish, frame-mounted fairing keeps steering feel light by directing aerodynamic forces into the chassis Feature-rich, AM/FM/WB audio system with iPod and XM radio compatibility is standard equipment Twin tapered mufflers maximize saddlebag capacity and improve the engine's power delivery Includes a 36 mnth limited factory warranty. Kawasaki Recalls 20,512 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-6R

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Kawasaki is issuing a recall on 2008-2011 Ninja ZX-10R and the 2009-2012 Ninja ZX-6R sportbikes due to a defect affecting the batteries. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the regulator/rectifier on affected units may not sufficiently charge the battery. As a result, the battery may unexpectedly be fully discharged, causing the engine to stall.

Kawasaki Producing 599cc 2013 Ninja ZX-6R for Japanese Racing Homologation

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

When Kawasaki announced it was upping the engine displacement for the Ninja ZX-6R to 636cc, the immediate question on many Team Green fans’ minds was what it would mean for the company’s supersport racing efforts. Kenan Sofuloglu won the 2012 World Supersport Championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, but under the regulations, he may not be allowed to defend his title next season on the 2013 model as homologation requirements in Supersport racing series limit Inline-Fours to displacements smaller than 600cc. Fear not however, as Kawasaki will be producing a special version of the ZX-6R with an engine displacement of 599cc, the same as the 2012 version.

2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R – 170 hp At The Wheel!

Fri, 12 Nov 2010

A new, somewhat clandestine, video surfaced on YouTube just today revealing that Kawasaki’s new 2011 ZX-10R produces over 170 hp at the rear wheel in stock trim. Taking this at face value, that’s at least 17 hp more than the 2010 ZX-10R produced for us in our 2010 Literbike Shootout. This puts the new big Ninja within swinging distance of BMW’s S1000RR, that in the same shootout gave us just under 176 hp.
