Kawasaki Other description

This bike was found in a Mi. warehouse where it sat unused since 1980.  To find a Z1 this original and untouched is rare. This is the only green 1974 I've ever seen.  It was missing the seat, horn, coils and left side exhaust when I found it.  I bought a reproduction seat and coils for it and found a 1976 KZ 900 exhaust. that is in good condition, some small rust spots and a few dings.   It still needs the horn.  The right side exhaust is original and in perfect condition.  I filled the carbs with gas and the bike started right up.  It sounds very tight, no cam chain noise and no smoking.  It should be given a carb cleaning and a complete tune up.  All the chrome is very nice, but not perfect.  The paint has no fading, 4 small chips in the gas tank.  Some chips on the tailfin under the chrome grab bar.  Left side cover has a scratch.  Bike has all the original cables, even the original wire ties on the handle bars.  The clutch and brake levers still have the clear plastic coating.  The paint on the frame is very shiney, it looks great.  The speedometer has some small dings on the left side. The master cylinder has no fluid but is very clean inside.  This is an amazing condition survivor bike.  With a professional detailing, this bike should be more valuable than a restored Z1.  Sold as is..no waranty.  Bike will not leave my possession until funds have cleared. $250 paypal deposit required within 48 hous of auctionn end.  Balance due within 7 days,  wire transfer or cash.

Motorcycle Drifting, Part 2.

Fri, 13 Jan 2012

Today’s Friday Fun Video comes courtesy of the marketing department at Icon Motorsports. Following the success of their first motorcycle drift video, featuring Nick Brocha on a stretched Kawasaki ZX-10R scorching rubber with Jim Guthrie on a Corvette-powered Mazda RX7, the guys set out to one-up themselves. With this video, I think it’s safe to say “Mission Accomplished.” This time around, Brocha is joined by Ernie Vigil and they’re riding modified Triumph Speed Triples.

2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Ninja 650 and Versys Pegged for Recall

Wed, 07 Mar 2012

Kawasaki is issuing a recall for certain 2012 Ninja 250R and Ninja 650 sportbikes as well as the Versys 650 due to a risk of the passenger footpegs falling off. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the circlips on the footpegs’ mounting pins may break under engine vibrations, potentially leading the footpegs to detach. This poses a potential danger to the passenger.
