Kawasaki Other description

If you know what this bike is, then I don't have to tell you how rare it is to find one, 100% complete and ready to ride, in this condition.  I purchased this bike one year ago with 1200 miles on it.  It was last inspected in 1983 and then It sat in a garage for the past 30 years. I cleaned the carb in an ultrasonic washer, changed the transmission oil and installed a new battery. The original tank was badly rusted so I bought a replacement on eBay which was absolutely spotless inside and I sealed it with Caswell sealer to prevent any future rust (as I do with all my metal tanks) and installed a new petcock. The sealed beam headlight has been replaced and led bulbs installed in the tail/brake light. The oil injection system has been checked as well as the timing which is spot-on. The bike is now running perfectly and has current inspection and transferable registration. Everything works as it should! There are some small spots on the tank, front fender and frame where the paint is flaking or there are tiny scratches (very typical for AR80s) and the head of the engine and exhaust could use a coat of paint if you wanted to get this bike to show quality. But, as you can see, the bike is very presentable for a rider and if there's a cleaner AR80 in the states, it's probably in a museum.

If you're not familiar with the AR80, please google it and do some research. In response to Honda's MB5, it was imported to the states in '81 and '82 and is considered an important part of Kawasaki and two stroke history. It is also an absolute blast to ride. Weighing only 170 lbs and making 11 horse power with 6 speeds, it's a great bike for city streets and back-road twisties. I weigh 170 lbs and it gets up to 60 mph with me on it.

Current mileage is 1322 and may increase slightly as I ride it occasionally.

I am a reputable antique dealer and motorcycle enthusiast with a shop in the Catskills and a showroom in Brooklyn. I encourage you to come see this bike in person prior to purchasing or call me with questions. The bike is also for sale locally on Brooklyn craigslist so I reserve the right to end this auction if it sells there. You can see more pics of this bike and the other things I sell on my website by googling my user name.

There is no title for this bike (Vermont does not issue titles for bikes under 300cc) but it has a transferable registration so it's very easy to register in any state.

I can deliver within reason for $1 per mile or I will help with freight arrangements but I will not disassemble or crate the bike. You can hire a full service freight service to do that.

Cheers, Jonah

Rossi, Pedrosa Fastest In Second Sepang MotoGP Test

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa topped the time sheets at the conclusion of the second MotoGP test at the Sepang track in Malaysia. Both clocked identical times of 1:59.999 to become the only riders to dip under the two minute mark the entire test. The hot and humid conditions in Sepang meant times wouldn’t be faster than they were in the first test here only a few weeks prior, and indeed, Rossi and Pedrosa’s time is 0.466 second slower than the fastest lap Marc Marquez set at the last test.
