Since its debut in 2006, the Ninja 650 has provided a practical sportbike platform, offering comfort, aggresive styling, a responsive perimeter-style frame and a bulletproof parallel twin. The character of the 2013 Ninja 650 begins with the compact, liquid-cooled 649cc parallel twin with digital fuel injection, dual overhead cams that act on eight lightweight valves, lightweight pistons, and a 180-degree crank assembly. Wed, 26 Sep 2012KAWASAKI are releasing a limited run of chronograph watches to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of their seminal bike. To reflect the engine capacity of the Z1, the run of watches has been limited to just 903 time pieces and will retail in the UK at £249.95. The watch will be officially launched at the main German motorcycle show, Intermot, on 2October, in just the same way the Z1 arrived in Europe for the first time 40 years ago.
2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R 30th Anniversary Edition Revealed
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Kawasaki added a new limited edition 30th Anniversary Ninja model, revealing the 2015 ZX-14R in a special Firecracker Red and Metallic Graystone color scheme based on the colors of the original 1984 Ninja 900, the company’s first fully-faired sportbike. Kawasaki had previously announced 30th anniversary editions of the ZX-10R and ZX-6R, both bearing green livery remembering the company’s World Superbike and Supersport racers. Only 300 units of the limited edition Ninja ZX-14R will be produced for the U.S.
Anthony West Can’t Afford to Pay to Race MotoGP, Mulls Retirement
Fri, 27 Jan 2012The 2012 MotoGP season is still months away and the world championship has already lost an entry, as veteran Anthony West announced his withdrawal from the series because he cannot afford to compete. The 30-year-old Australian racer was included on the provisional 2012 MotoGP entry list to compete for the Speed Master team on an Aprilia CRT machine. But with the official pre-season test at Sepang, Malaysia, coming up next week, West says he will not race because teams are asking riders to pay too much to race for them.
