2012 KAWASAKI Z1000 1000, Super Futuristic, Super Fast, Super Fun A thrill to look at, a thrill to ride. The Z1000 carving a powerful line as it cuts through the atmosphere and even as it stands still is one of those rare motorcycles that balance a distinctive aesthetic with an engine that pumps out arm-straightening power. Completely redesigned two years ago, the Z1000's aggressive bodywork reveals the design team's attention to detail. The aesthetic showcase begins with a low-mount front cowl that slopes back radically, highlighting the Z's prow and, behind it, an adjustable instrument cluster featuring a multi-function LCD display covered by a trick-looking orange lens. The line-beam headlight's guts are integrated nicely into that angled cowl. Moving rearward, you come to a shapely fuel tank that's flared on the sides to let you grab it with your knees and that's trim at the back for a snug fit. The seat is low and narrow at the front to make ground contact easy, and flows beautifully rearward to end in a futuristically retro LED tail light behind a red lens. It's a thoroughly athletic shape, one sure to garner attention wherever it's ridden.

WSBK: 2012 Miller Results
Tue, 29 May 2012Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. As noted in our preview, the 2012 Kawasaki KX250F introduces a new dual fuel injector system with the second injector in the airbox, a design intended to give added top-end power. ABS Option Coming for 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic, Nomad and Vaquero
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Anti-lock brake technology has become fairly commonplace for motorcycles now, and it sometimes comes as a bit of a surprise when a major manufacturer does not offer ABS as an option on certain models. The European Parliament making ABS mandatory by 2016 has helped push things along, as manufacturers work to equip their models with the technology ahead of the deadline, not just for the European market but also for other markets including the U.S. New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal Kawasaki will offer an ABS version for its 2014 Vulcan 1700 cruisers and tourers for American consumers.
