During last weekend’s round of the eMotoRacing series, held at New Jersey Motorsports Park, the series had a special entry. Mixed among the Brammo TTXs and Empulse Rs that are normally seen in the series, the Bolt II electric motorcycle from Virginia Tech University filled a grid slot amongst them. New: Kawasaki Z40 Limited Edition watch

KAWASAKI are releasing a limited run of chronograph watches to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of their seminal bike. To reflect the engine capacity of the Z1, the run of watches has been limited to just 903 time pieces and will retail in the UK at £249.95. The watch will be officially launched at the main German motorcycle show, Intermot, on 2October, in just the same way the Z1 arrived in Europe for the first time 40 years ago.

Kawasaki Producing 599cc 2013 Ninja ZX-6R for Japanese Racing Homologation

When Kawasaki announced it was upping the engine displacement for the Ninja ZX-6R to 636cc, the immediate question on many Team Green fans’ minds was what it would mean for the company’s supersport racing efforts. Kenan Sofuloglu won the 2012 World Supersport Championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, but under the regulations, he may not be allowed to defend his title next season on the 2013 model as homologation requirements in Supersport racing series limit Inline-Fours to displacements smaller than 600cc. Fear not however, as Kawasaki will be producing a special version of the ZX-6R with an engine displacement of 599cc, the same as the 2012 version.
