2005 KAWASAKI ZZR1200, Nice low mileage 2005 Kawasaki ZZR1200 with saddlebag mounts. The ZZR1200 has a torquey, powerful engine based on the Kawasaki Ninja 1200 but with a comfortable riding position appreciated by sport touring enthusiasts. In addition to abundant power, the bike features an aluminum perimeter-style frame reinforced with internal ribbing to withstand mass miles of sport touring plus a steel subframe that accommodates roomy Givi-designed Kawasaki saddlebags. The ZZR1200 has a light-handling nature enhanced by Kawasaki’s UNI-TRAK rear suspension system that produces progressive rates on the shock for an overall smooth ride. Kawasaki-Supported Zytek ZX10ev TT Zero Electric Racer

British Superbike race team Bournemouth Kawasaki and electric powertrain maker Zytek Automotive will compete in the 2012 TT Zero on the Isle of Man with an electric ZX-10R with support from Kawasaki UK. The Zytek-Kawasaki ZX10ev uses the chassis of a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and an oil-cooled Zytek permanent magnet electric motor. Zytek is a race-proven electric powertrain supplier, though its expertise is primarily with cars.

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.

Kawasaki Reports Q1 2011-2012 Results

Kawasaki reported a 8.7% decrease in motorcycle sales over its first quarter ended June 30, 2011. The motorcycle and engine division (which includes ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft and general purpose engines) generated sales of 59.8 billion yen (US$775.4 million) , a decrease from the 65.5 billion yen (US$848.9 million) reported from the same period last year. Overall, Kawasaki Heavy Industries reported a profit of 9.56 billion yen (US$123.8 million) over the quarter, compared to a profit of 5.88 billion yen (US$76.2 million) reported last year.
