Kawasaki Other description

For sale is a beautiful 2001 Kawasaki W650 motorcycle in two-tone green/tan.

The W650 is one of Kawasaki's most recent designs. Launched in 1999 it uses the retro styling of Kawasaki's Wl, first built in the 1960s. Its air-cooled parallel twin engine has rounded cases and fins designed to recreate 30-year-old styling, and uses a bevel drive shaft to operate the overhead cam. The rest of the bike also harks back to the past. The fuel tank wears rubber kneepads, the low-slung silencers use a classic peashooter design, and the rubber fork gaitors and kickstart would almost convince the casual observer that this was indeed a bike from the 1960s. The W650 isn't totally devoid of modern components though. The engine has electric start, and the front disc brake is decidedly up-to-date.

This model was imported to the USA from 1999-2001 and comes with a nice set of Hepco & Becker hard luggage cases.  The bike has 15709 miles on it, is well cared for and maintained by me.  It runs great and I have ridden it regularly for the past two years that I have owned it.

Kawasaki Celebrates 30 Years Of Ninjas With Anniversary Model ZX-6Rs

Tue, 06 May 2014

In 1985 Ronald Reagan is President, Back To The Future is a box office smash, New Coke is introduced and so is Kawasaki’s first 600cc Ninja sportbike. Thirty years later we’re still riding Ninjas but, thankfully, drinking original recipe Coca-Cola. For 2015, Kawasaki celebrates three decades of Ninja models with a 30th Anniversary Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-6R ABS.

This steam powered motorcycle (not a bicycle, 'cos it don't have no pedals), could be perfect for you if you like a brew at short notice on your Sunday ride. Built in 1894, it's about to be auctioned and is expected to reach a world record price (for a kettle). It uses a coal furnace to super-heat water into steam which is fed into a small engine.
