Kawasaki Other description

2000 KAWASAKI ZX6E, The Kawasaki ZX6E is the touring version of the racier ZX6R. The position of the taller clip on style handlebar, softer suspension and roomier seat are examples of how it offers more ergonomically versus a full on super sport. One of the things that really caught our attention about this ZXE is how original and untouched it is. You won t find an aftermarket fender eliminator, slip-on exhaust, lights etc which is an aspect alone that is easily found in a bike like this. For a 2000, it also has relatively low mileage with just over 20k. It is equipped with Michelin Pilot Power tires which are in excellent condition and have at least 90% tread life remaining- a huge saving for the new owner. The plastics throughout are in good condition with no major flaws. The tank is equally in good shape with no dents. It is a smooth running bike and can be ridden all day in a relaxed pace, or, dropped down into a lower gear to carve your favorite twisties.

The last time we assembled the superbike offerings from the Big Four Japanese manufacturers to determine the alpha male model was 2009. The CBR won that confrontation, but a lot’s changed since then. For 2012 Honda revamped the CBR1000RR, Yamaha added traction control to the R1, the GSX-R1000 lost a muffler and last year Kawasaki introduced an all-new ZX-10R.

Retro-styling on a middleweight favorite. Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing “I’m not a fan of the Darth Vader looks.” It’s a line we hear often whenever we test one of Kawasaki’s sporty bikes, especially from the Z family of naked bikes. Internally known as the Sugomi design language, Kawasaki says “Someone, or something, possessing sugomi inspires awe, leaves an indelible impression, is daunting in stature or ability, and commands respect.” Maybe it does, or maybe it doesn’t, but angular lines and sharp creases also alienate a section of the motorcycling world who like the modern tech and power from Kawasaki’s Z line, but could do without the sugomi styling.

Here at Visordown Towers, we've been leafing through loads of issues of the magazine for a couple of days. The reason? Visordown.com is ten years old and our next issue will celebrate this monumentous occassion.
