Kawasaki Other description
This KLR has been the the same owner for 14 yrs since new. He was/is a serious enthusiast who at any 1 time has three or 4 bikes in the stable and they all get farkled/ridden. This '650 is no exception to that rule with 13k miles and a slew of tasty/useful mods. The bike was set up right out of the gate for adventure touring. The pics essentially tell the story but the short list goes something like this:~Laser ProDuro exhaust.~Dynojet carburetor jetting upgrade.~K&N air filter.~Doohickey mod.~Dirt-Bagz panniers with frame kit.~Larger rear luggage rack.~Rear fender extension.~Progressive rear shock absorber and spring. Not a redone stock shock, an entirely new unit.~Stiffer fork springs with better valving and heavier weight oil.~Fork leg gaiters.~Front big brake upgrade with braided steel line.~Aluminum fork brace.~Acerbis hand protectors.~Aftermarket handlebar grips.~Rubber covers on the clutch and front brake levers.~Folding tip aftermarket shift lever.~Aluminum skid shield.~Compass.~Plastic throttlelock.~Rich's custom saddle.~Centerstand added with a padded nylon "helper" pull up strap.~Factory "Kawasaki KLR650" decals removed with clear paint protection film applied in high wear areas. This KLR is jetted as well as any I have ever tried. It runs/rides fantastic. It does not smoke or use oil excessively. A stock KLR compared to this 1 is a quivering mass of jello that is still warming up on choke while you are tearing it up in Baja. The little beastie has been fanatically maintained by the owner in his private shop where he has a lift and an extensive tool collection. Cosmetically it is probably the nicest older example a person is likely to find. Unless the bike was on the road in the line of duty, it was parked in a heated garage. There are signs of use and imperfections here and there. Clearly it was never pre-owned for serious trail riding or dirt thrashing. Given the type of machine it is and its intended use I think there will be no disappointments. One fork seal was barely weeping so I just had both sides redone by Walter Myers. The tires I would estimate are at 50% life remaining. The bike needs nothing other than a new owner with plans to hit the road and/or trail.Includes one factory key, the owners manual, toolkit, Clymer repair manual, factory Kawasaki manual, jet kit remains and a Crown Royal bag with new inner tubes.call/text Kie at Red Label Moto

Fri, 10 Aug 2012Kawasaki is issuing a recall on its 2011 and 2012 Ninja ZX-10R due to a potential oil leak in the crankcase. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, engine oil may leak from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R‘s crankcase from a machined area where the starter is mounted. Leaked oil may pool on top of the crank case and, under continued use, spill onto the rear tire, reducing traction and increasing the risk of a crash.
