Kawasaki Other description

For sale is a completely reconditioned 1983 Kawasaki KZ1100 LTD. I am the second owner of this low mileage (18k), well maintained muscle bike. This is the last year of the vaunted Z1 platform. Everything has been gone through and all electrics work as they should. The bike has a 4 into 1 header and Ramair filters which were designed specifically for the 34mm Mikuni CV carbs, which have been restored and jetted appropriately. Chrome is flawless. Paint is original, with some sun fade on the top of the tank but looks great. Original owner misplaced the side covers but I was able to source out a set on ebay (rare and expensive)and sprayed them black. New battery and rubber. Petcock restored. Good brakes. Replaced the high US bars for Superbike bars (have the original)and the flashers for some slick mini turn signals.

This sweet machine is smooth and very powerful and is a great, last example of a Kaw DOHC air-cooled liter bike. The header gives this bike a great subtle roar.

Price is more then reasonable considering the bike and its condition.

Get down on your knees and play

This remarkable shot of Eddie Lawson is taken by Rich Chenet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.

2014 WSBK – Assen Results

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.
