Kawasaki Other description

Up for sale is an awesome 1979 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD Custom with LOTS of extras! I am the second owner and I'm only selling due to a recent career change that requires me to get another car. This is a full turn-key, ready to ride bike, no work is required to start riding.

Here's the list:

1340cc Wiseco 10:5 to1 kit, Yoshimura cams, fully ported and polished head, 2" and 1.6" Manly high swirl valves with full Teflon seals and bronze guides, fully welded, balanced & chopped crank, Tsubaki HD cam chain, oil cooler, Andrew under cut transmission, Barnett HD race clutch, springs, & ID clutch bearing, Stock electronic ignition with high out put Andrew coils, 33mm Mikuni smooth bore carburetors, Kerker 4-1 full exhaust with open baffle, 1979 KZ1000P 18" rear wheel, 4" over boxed chrome swingarm, K&N Pods Air Filters, all steel braided lines, custom fabed fender eliminator, Drag Specialties Tach, tach only set-up/no speedo/no odometer, frame shaved of blinkers and passenger pegs, aftermarket Kuryakyn passenger pegs, bar end mirrors, no electric start/kick-start only, hidden kill switch/no key needed. One of the front rotors and the rear rotor have a slight wobble, but nothing that makes it un-ridable. I purchased replacement rotors (which are included) but just haven't gotten around to installing them. Also comes with a box of extra parts including 2 extra front rotors, 1 extra rear rotor, steering stabilizer, extra rear fender set, extra generator/front sprocket engine covers, chrome rear shock/drag bars, extra sprockets, misc nuts & bolts, and extra jets. I'm also throwing in a new custom made seat cover, and a Kreem full tank treatment kit. The bike had approximately 10,000 original miles on it when the mods were done by the original owner in 2008, and now has approximately 13,000 miles. The battery, brake pads, and Bridgestone Battlax tires were installed by me and have less than 2,000 miles on them. I've also installed a new Kawasaki OEM petcock with fresh fuel lines and filters. The paint is in excellent overall condition with no damage other than a few very light surface scuffs and swirls. The bike runs perfectly and is VERY FAST! It will usually start on the 1st-2nd kick, as long as you don't "spaghetti leg" it. Please look closely at all of the photos to verify the condition of the bike.

If you feel I left anything out or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me (Jeff) here or by phone at 251-802-4015.

2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 Traction Control [video]

Thu, 29 Oct 2009

With the new Concours, Kawi created its first traction control system. Unlike the ABS, the rider can disable or enable KTRC, and can do so on the fly. The new TC system isn’t level selectable, like, say, Ducati’s DTC, and it isn’t intended to allow a rider to go faster on their Connie.

Ninja H2 Video XVI – High Precision Machinery + Video

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Yes, folks, Kawasaki has released yet another teaser video for the Ninja H2. This time, it’s number 16, titled, “Beauty in High Precision.” In it, we see the impeller for the supercharger being created from a solid piece of billet aluminum. Admittedly, this inundation of H2 videos is getting to be a bit much, even for us, but if you’re a fan of machine porn, then Kawasaki’s latest video will surely please.

Do WSB bikes need fake headlights?

Mon, 02 Jul 2012

Next year's WSB bikes must carry fake headlight stickers to make them look like their road-going equivalents – and Kawasaki previewed the new look at yesterday's race at Aragon. The idea is to add to WSB's road bike links and to further distinguish the bikes from the latest breed of CRT MotoGP machines. However, it means adding meaningless stickers on a large and potentially valuable acreage of prime sponsorship space on the bike's nose, with much of the rest already taken up by the rider's number; not necessarily a good thing when money is already hard to find in international racing.
