Up for action is the 182nd KZ1000 produced in July of 1976, it's a 1977. It's VIN is KZT00A-000282, the first produced in 1976 being KZT00A-000101 (sourced from Kawasaki) and the engine number is KZT00A-000296 (original and correct stagger for this bike). This bike has been repainted (due to clear coat failure in the Florida sun) black back in the early 90s, it's original color was maroon as can still be seen as over spray under the gas tank, side covers, and tail piece. Originally purchased out of California and fitted with the Vetter touring kit (by the dealership) and around 1980 purchased from the original owner by my uncle after I located it for him. He toured with it occasionally and eventually upgraded to an 1986 Gold Wing and then is when I finally acquired her (as was the agreement when I found it for him initially). I removed the crash bar, fairing, and luggage rack as soon as I got her putting it back to it's stock configuration. This bike has never been laid down as is evidenced by it's original hand grips, foot pegs, and all undercarriage components. This bike stayed in my possession ever since even residing in my living room for 12 years as to keep her safe and sound. This KZ has never had any major issues or work, a true and original survivor! And a survivor she is never restored, just maintained and cleaned up for your consideration. She starts right up and runs great, shifts great, and brakes well. The turn signals were modified with dual element bulbs and wiring to run as running lights for safety and that's the most significant modification that I can think of. Some of the original parts were replaced through the years but all were kept and put back on her now.
  I am admittedly biased but in my opinion this bike deserves to be in a museum or private collection somewhere in preservation for future generations to enjoy.
 I have recently turned her over to my friend Jack and he has cleaned her up and listed her for auction here. We are expecting a good response as for the original condition and the extremely low production number so there is a substantial reserve on this auction. If she doesn't meet the reserve and sell this time, I may purchase her myself, adding her back to my collection or possibly we'll re list her here in a few weeks and see if the if she sells??? So make sure and tell the KZ fanatics in your worlds!
 PLEASE understand that this bike is a survivor and not a restoration, the chrome is almost 37 years old as is most of the rest of the bike's frame, body components, rubber components, etc.... The instruments have the expected fog under the lenses as do most of the originals. A few components have been replaced with OEM NOS parts or OEM take offs such as the seat, intake boots, air box boots, etc... Check the detailed pictures for more details.
 
 Note:  Bike is for sale locally too,I am currently entertaining all offers I find reasonable by email. The KZ is a true survivor and very correct! shown with a 78 ltd seat,strictly on the bike for comfort only! I have a fresh reproduction seat on order from Z1 Enterprises,and it will be on the bike when it is sold. It is the buyers responsibility to supply any shipping needed once a deal is made. There are lots of motorcycle shippers out there! so do your homework! I will assist as much as I can,and store the motorcycle as long as needed!The KZ1000 currently has 26,277 original miles! and through out its life the odometer cable has been replaced,and never ridden ,without replacing it! so I can say this is the original mileage! The Bike runs strong!all fluids changed,tank has been flushed a few times,carbs re-built,with two new filters & fuel lines ,valves adjusted,and four new NGK spark plugs. The points have been up-dated to electronic ignition,mainly for reliability!coils are original. The engine runs great! They say the first 300 bikes assembled in the Japanese plants are always given special attention! and I believe that statement to be true, with the way this engine sounds! other KZs I have owned,you always hear the primary chain a little,this one is like its non-existent!any way you get the idea it runs good! it also has an up dated gel battery,I am currently using ethanol free fuel to avoid future carb issues! a new o-ring chain was installed too. The front tire is new, the rear tire will be needing a replacement down the road.The 77 KZ is ready for a new owner! and ready to ride!I have done my best to give a complete and accurate description but know that I have not covered everything, so PLEASE feel free to ask any and all questions before bidding. 2011-2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Recalled for Crankcase Oil Leak

Kawasaki is issuing a recall on its 2011 and 2012 Ninja ZX-10R due to a potential oil leak in the crankcase. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, engine oil may leak from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R‘s crankcase from a machined area where the starter is mounted. Leaked oil may pool on top of the crank case and, under continued use, spill onto the rear tire, reducing traction and increasing the risk of a crash.

Speed and Fuel TV to Broadcast Kawasaki’s Zero to Hero Challenge Starting This Week

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Beginning this week, Speed and Fuel TV will broadcast the Zero to Hero Challenge across several time slots. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.
