Kawasaki Other description

I wont sugar coat it, this bike is in rough shape.

It's a 1974 Kawasaki 250 triple.

What I know is wrong:
  • No title (the guy i got it from just wanted the engine, he never got it)
  • No keys (again, the guy just wanted the engine)
  • all 3 pistons need replaced. They were rusted solid inside the cylinders.
  • all 3 cylinders need to be bored and honed
  • crankshaft needs to be rebuilt (3 or 4 of the bearings have excessive play in them from rusting and being cleaned)
  • bike needs new throttle cable (if you're going to rebuild the engine, you should probably replace all the cables)
  • light surface rust on whole bike
The good:
  • I already stripped the engine and split the crank case for you
  • i already cleaned all the rust off the crank shaft (it was pretty bad)
  • all the parts are still here
The first picture is the bike in the condition i received it. The ladder pictures are the current condition. All the engine parts are bagged up and sorted, currently in a box in my apartment. This isn't a bike that you're just going to toss together and have it running. You should only buy this bike if you're prepared for a project.

If you want pictures of anything in particular, shoot me a message and I'll get them to you.

I will deliver the bike, for a fee, within 150 miles.

Happy Bidding!

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

Australian rider Alan Kempster lost his right arm and leg in 1990 when an intoxicated truck driver crashed into his motorcycle. The accident changed Kempster’s life, but what it did not do was dampen his spirit and his love of racing. The determined Kempster rigged a racebike and returned to the track, not only competing against abled riders, but also winning.

A perennial favorite gets a few upgrades. Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing A few years ago, I took a break from my lovely MO family and decided to get a real job, complete with an actual commute. Without the pick of the litter to choose from anymore, I had to actually buy a bike to get to work on.
