Kawasaki Re-Signs Multi-Year Contracts with Villopoto and Weimer

Ryan Villopoto and Jake Weimer have signed multi-year contract extensions with Kawasaki, ensuring the two riders will continue competing for Team Green in AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross championships through 2013 and beyond. Villopoto and Kawasaki have been a winning combination both indoors and outdoors. Villopoto won three 250 motocross titles and a Supercross Lites West Region title with Kawasaki before moving up to the 450 class in 2009, winning two Supercross races in his rookie year.

2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. These two beautiful Z1R Kawasakis appeared at the annual Mooneyes Yokohama Custom show last weekend. With one sporting a street/strip look (spot the belly-scraping ride height and rigid rear struts) and the other undergoing a sort of modernisation, they both reminded me just how handsome and unique the original slab-sided Z1R was.  Judging by some of the other wild and weird exhibits I made a mental note to myself: must make sure I'm in Japan this time next year.
