2012 Kawasaki KX 85, The KX85 has a Liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 84cc engine which features a lightweight Electrofusion-coated cylinder that improves heat transfer while resisting abrasion and seizure, as well as six-speed transmission which has chrome-finished shift fork ends to resist wear and seizing, and Uni-Trak rear suspension which is fully adjustable for compression, rebound damping and spring preload.

Below are the times for all the motorcycle competitors in this year’s event. As expected, Carlin Dunne aboard the Lightning electric superbike, took top honors among all motorcycle competitors, marking the first time an electric motorcycle has done so.

Thu, 30 Jan 2014Kawasaki reported the fourth-consecutive profitable quarter from its Motorcycle & Engine business, with an operating income of 1.5 billion yen (US$14.6 million) for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2013. Through the first three quarters of its 2013-2014 fiscal year, Kawasaki’s Motorcycle & Engine division earned a operating income of 4.0 billion yen (US$38.9 million), compared to a loss of 2.0 billion yen over the same period in the year before.
