Like Stewart, who grew up racing Kawasaki KX motorcycles and is now the AMA National 125cc Western Region Supercross Champion and defending 2002 AMA 125cc Motocross Champion, Kawasakis smallest KX is the minicycle of choice for experienced young racers as well as youngsters who want to improve their riding skills before advancing to a larger-displacement KX model. A liquid-cooled, high-performance two-stroke engine powers the KX65 and features a strong, lightweight piston residing in an Electrofusion-coated cylinder. A CNC-machined finish on the bridge between the exhaust ports also contributes to better engine reliability and staves off seizures. Perfect for young riders accustomed to smaller motorcycles, the KX65 has a quick and smooth-shifting six-speed transmission with a manual clutch-actuating mechanism. Kawasaki Issues Recall on Unauthorized Concours 14 Police Models
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Kawasaki announced a recall on 44 2012-2013 Concours 14 potentially faulty motorcycles allegedly converted for police use without the manufacturer’s consent. Back in early 2012, Kawasaki announced a recall on 278 2009-2012 Concours 14 police motorcycles because the add-on equipment installed by Idaho-based Beaudry Motors suffered electrical problems. According to the recall documents, the electrical system installed by Beaudry could overload the charging circuit between the regulator and the two batteries and eventually blow the main fuse.

Thu, 09 Dec 2010These two beautiful Z1R Kawasakis appeared at the annual Mooneyes Yokohama Custom show last weekend. With one sporting a street/strip look (spot the belly-scraping ride height and rigid rear struts) and the other undergoing a sort of modernisation, they both reminded me just how handsome and unique the original slab-sided Z1R was. Judging by some of the other wild and weird exhibits I made a mental note to myself: must make sure I'm in Japan this time next year.
