Kawasaki KX description
2004 Kawasaki KX250, Great Shape race ready - Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., diligently refines its KX racing motorcycles to a very fine pitch. Starting with simple but powerful designs, Kawasaki studies the lessons learned from the previous year of competition to make the next model faster, better handling, and easier to ride. The KX250 for 2004 has received a host of refinements resulting in increased engine performance, improved handling and greater rider comfort. To give the 249cc two-stroke engine excellent top-end without sacrificing hard-hitting low- to mid-range power, the combustion chamber has been reshaped for higher compression, the intake ports have been reshaped, and the new crankcase casting eliminates the boost port at the rear of the cylinder to speed the fuel-air mixture through the transfer ports. Plus, a one-piece aluminum KIPS valve replaces the earlier two-piece steel valve, the KIPS governor ball guide has been reshaped, and new expansion chamber dimensions all contribute to improved power delivery.

Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Sofuoglu’s best time of 1:33.506 was set during the first day of testing, but still nobody was able to beat it.
2014 World Supersport – Phillip Island Results
Mon, 24 Feb 2014The 2014 World Supersport season opened in dramatic fashion after a red-flagged restart turned the 18-lap race into a five-lap sprint, with MV Agusta making a triumphant return to the top of the podium for the first time since 1976. The Supersport event began with a hard-fought battle between three-time champion Kenan Sofuoglu, Kev Coghlan and Michael van der Mark. Sofuoglu and his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R held a slim lead over Coghlan’s Yamaha R6 and van der Mark’s Honda CBR600RR when the race was halted after CIA Insurance Honda rider Jack Kennedy suffered an engine problem and leaked oil onto the track.
