Kawasaki KLX description

Up for your consideration is my beloved 2003 Kawasaki KLX400 supermoto, aka "The Green DRZ". The bike has been modified, for both practical and general power boosts, from head to toe. A lot of time, money, and effort went into this bike, so my loss is your gain. It's unlike the majority of DRZ400SM's for sale on craigslist that are selling more for less just because they're newer. This bike is already set up for you to hop on and ride off - with the added bonus of already been modified.

My history with the bike:
I purchased the bike in February, 2016, essentially, as a bike for my girlfriend to learn on, she's a novice, and for me have a bike to mess around town with. Since there was still snow on the ground, it became my project bike, and didn't leave my apartment living room (that was fun) for the following two months. I swapped a few parts, upgraded (see list below), and gave it a nice all-around boost in performance. Where you see the bike in the pictures is how far I've taken the bike. It hasn't left the community other for me to get gas down the road. She hasn't even driven on the road yet, and mainly putz around the community while I watch.

Reason I'm selling:
I love the bike, I think it'd be a fun commuter for myself, but the bike is for her. She's a true beginner, has very little strength as it is and I don't want her to drop the bike and hurt herself or the bike, so I'm looking for a WR250x for her instead. I've owned one before to learn on myself, that's the bike she truly started learning on many years ago before I sold it, so it looks like I'll have to take a step backwards and get another one for her. The bike has been lowered considerably. The seat height is about 30-31" (with an additional drop in sag, depending on your weight). I'm 5'5-1/2", 185 lbs, and I'm completely flat footed. My girlfriend weighs lighter, about 110 lbs, so she's on the balls of her feet. I've kept the bike in great shape. Everything has been inspected (TLOCS every time before and after), tightened, adjusted, and set up so the bike is sound every ride, plus it has the added bonus of having all the additional upgrades for when she's out on the street and highway and exploring around. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten the opportunity to do that.

Here's the list of modifications and maintenance:

Seat Concepts Complete Seat (low version)
DRZ2 KoubaLink Lowering Link (1-1/8" lowering version)

Bike currently does not have radiator shrouds on them, since I just installed the radiator guards, but I do have them. If you updated the plastics, you'd essentially have a brand new bike.

Maintenance:
Valve Clearance Check was completed on 6/3/2016 - all clear
Coolant flushed and topped off 6/3/2016.
Front and rear brakes bled & replaced with Bel-Ray Super DOT-4 Brake fluid (completed on 6/3/2016)

Suzuki Cooling Fan Thermoswitch on 6/08 (peace of mind)
Uni filter cleaned and lubed after every few rides (last cleaned 7/1/2016)
Tossed original radiator hoses and had them replaced with Mishimoto Silicone Radiator Hose Kit (6/15/2016)
Chain lubed with Mosul C5 chain paste every or every other ride
Replaced any lose or previously stripped screw with new stainless

Additional:
I have a set of new uninstalled EBC rear brake pads that come with the bike as well.

For those "vertically challenged", with the lowered forks, seat, and lowering link, the seat sits at about 30". It'll sag based upon your weight. Suspension adjustments can always be made for you on your own time.

Pickup preferred. SHIPPING IS BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY.

Any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to message me. I'll answer any questions I can promptly. Thanks!
