2009 Indian Chief-Vintage factory built in Kings Mountain N.C. facility. This bike is in flawless condition and is a low mile example with only 2800 documented miles. It has a low production number plate of #124 affixed. These torque monsters had a three year run with under 1000 units total, not to be confused with the Gilroy, CA models or current mass produced Polaris backed editions. It is equipped with a factory built 105 cu.in. Power-Plus fuel injected engine , not an S&S motor like in the earlier 2000 models. The Chief Vintage is equipped with a rock solid six speed transmission and stopping power is provided by beautiful looking four piston Brembo brakes.The Indian has two into one stainless steel exhaust along with a metal scripted logo on a 5.5 gallon gas tank. It weighs in at 753 pounds is slung low and balanced perfectly fitting riders of all shapes and sizes.It has run flawlessly throughout ownership with more frequent seasonal oil changes than mileage required. Thunder black paint work shines like a mirror as does the chrome trim. Factory billet wheels were added at a cost of $1000 and were a great looking add on replacing the standard laced wheels. New Indian Thunder Stroke 111 Engine in “Spirit of Munro” Streamliner
Mon, 11 Mar 2013To mark the unveiling of its new Thunder Stroke 111 engine, Indian Motorcycle revealed a custom-built streamliner motorcycle dubbed the “Spirit of Munro“, equipped with the new Indian engine. The “Spirit of Munro” is a tribute to the Munro Special, the 1920 Indian scout that set a new land-speed record in 1967 at the Bonneville Salt Flats for under-1000cc motorcycles. The Munro Special was famously depicted in the 2005 film “The World’s Fastest Indian“, starring Anthony Hopkins.

Mon, 10 Dec 2012Polaris Industries offered the first preview of the next generation of Indian Motorcycle, releasing an audio clip of the new engine that will power an all-new model. Indian is offering a a line of 2013 Chief models but all of them are continuations of models offered by Indian’s owners. The new Polaris-era Indians are still a year away, but Polaris decided to start promoting the brand and teasing the new models ahead of a 2014 re-launch.
Indian Motorcycle Weekends at Washington IMS
Thu, 09 Jan 2014Indian Motorcycle will be in Washington, DC starting this Friday at 3 p.m. as part of the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS). Riders who attend the IMS at the Washington Convention Center will be treated to a variety of events throughout the weekend – many of which honor the US service personnel stationed in the DC area.
