Indian Chief description
This barn find 1946 Indian Chief was found by a friend of mine in the Carolina hills, It had been in a barn for many decades. It is in great original condition, the frame and fork are very straight and solid, do dents or road rash on it at all, the fenders and tanks are very nice as well, no rust holes with only a little surface rust and a lot of original paint which should buff out nicely. I've been told this color blue is a 1946 only color, or possibly a 2 year color only. The original tank badges are in very nice condition and very hard to come by. The motor turns very smooth and the cylinders look very nice, it is missing the pistons, the cases look great with no cracks. I was hoping to finish this bike but don't have time with too many projects getting in the way so this will have to go to a new lucky home. It is obviously missing a few parts, ie. Trans, headlight, horn, gauge panel, axles etc. The original seat pan has been cut off in the back but I have a nice complete buddy seat if the buyer is interested in it. Handlebar controls and cables all turn smoothly. Original paint bikes are becoming more and more valuable every day and this is a very worthy project to get running and back on the road as is, or if your the restored bike type, this is a great solid bike that hasn't seen many miles to restore. Or, strip it down, build a racer and bring it to Trog! Please ask any questions and good luck getting this great Indian barnfind bike. WE WILL BE SELLING LOTS OF COOL VINTAGE PARTS OVER THE COMING MONTHS SO PLEASE KEEP CHECKING BACK TO SEE WHAT NEW ITEMS WE HAVE LISTED!! |

2023 Indian Sport Chief Review - First Ride
Mon, 27 Feb 2023FOX shocks and Brembo brakes turn the Chief into a Sport Chief, as Indian goes after the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S. Credit: Photos by Garth Milan | Videos by Troy Siahaan, edited by Ray Gauger Indian pulled no punches and left no doubt when it came to the bike it had in its crosshairs when developing its latest model. Usually at press intros, we all know what other model(s) could be considered competition, but it’s very rare to have the host manufacturer come out and say it.
The Indian Motorcycle Company has registered new motorcycle names
Tue, 02 Jun 2020The Guardian and Pursuit names will apparently be the versions based on the new Indian Challenger. Introduced at the end of last year, the Indian Challenger immediately attracted some attention thanks to very interesting "stuffing". It is equipped with a liquid-cooled overhead engine with a displacement of 1769cc PowerPlus - the most powerful V-twin in Indian history, it develops 122 hp at 5500 rpm and 178 Nm at 3800 rpm.
