For your consideration is a matching numbers 1946 Indian Chief motorcycle.  Clear title in hand.  Motorcycle currently does not run.  Purchased with the purpose of restoring, multiple replacement parts have been assembled (which will be listed for sale individually), but have been distracted with other projects.  It is time to let someone else carry her back to function.  Engine number is CDE 6736.  Frame number is 346-6736.  One of the rare WWII models with frame and engine numbers that span 2 years as so few were manufactured for private sale.  Including a fender with the sale of this motorcycle (I just think it is the right thing to do).  $500 deposit due within 24 of auction closing.  Remainder of sale price via bank check or wire transfer prior to pick-up.  Although I will assist with delivery, buyer must arrange delivery on their own.  No warranty implied or promised as motorcycle is a restoration project.

Polaris Reports Q1 2014 Sales Results

Wed, 23 Apr 2014

Polaris Industries reported a 52% increase in motorcycle revenues over the first quarter of 2014, thanks in large part to the addition of Indian Motorcycles. Motorcycle sales generated $78.9 million in sales revenue for Polaris, compared to $51.8 million in the same quarter last year. The key thing to remember however, is Indian Motorcycles wasn’t relaunched until late summer, so last year’s first quarter sales were made up almost entirely of Victory Motorcycles.

Indian Motorcycles Heading to … Um … India

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Polaris Industries announced it will launch its Indian Motorcycles brand in India on January 22, 2014. The inherently awkward naming aside, Indian Motorcycles India will begin operations about two months after the launch of its Polaris cousins Victory Motorcycles as the latest brand to seek out a chunk of the world’s second largest motorcycle market. Indian Motorcycles India will offer the company’s complete lineup, which includes the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftain.

Polaris Reports Q1 2012 Results

Wed, 18 Apr 2012

Polaris Industries reported a 44% increase in on-road vehicle sales revenue and a 40% increase in North American Victory Motorcycle unit sales over the first quarter of 2012. According to Polaris’ first quarter report, its on-road vehicle division (which consists of the Victory and Indian motorcycle brands as well as electric vehicle brands GEM and Goupil) generated $64.7 million in sales revenue, compared to $44.9 million reported in the same quarter of 2011. Of course, the Polaris didn’t yet own Indian, GEM or Goupil during that quarter last year, so the figures are a bit misleading.
