Offered for sale is this fully restored 1948 Indian Chief. The bike went through a complete ground up restoration including engine rebuild, frame, wheels, saddle, plating, and paint. The restoration which was completed 10yrs ago. It has only covered 11mis since it’s restoration. This is a matching number example which still retains all of it’s original sheetmetal. Engine # CDH2472 B Frame # 3482472 All sheet metal is original.

NHTSA Launches Recall Look-up by VIN Tool

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have launched a new free online tool that should make it easier for consumers to inspect their vehicles’ safety recall histories. The new search tool, available at http://www.safercar.gov/vinlookup, allows people to look for recall campaigns by entering Vehicle Identification Numbers.

Polaris Reports Q2 2014 Sales Results

The relaunch of Indian Motorcycles continues to be a resounding success for Polaris Industries, helping the company report a 107% increase in second quarter revenue from motorcycle sales. Polaris reported revenues of $103.1 million in the quarter ended June 30, more than double the $49.9 million in revenue reported over  the same quarter last year. Polaris continues to see strong demand for Indian, which relaunched last summer, while demand for Victory decreased by the mid-single digits.
