Honda XR description

Very clean, custom 2005 XR650L. 6K miles and has been off road once in its life. I bought the bike with 950 miles on it bone stock and performed all the upgrades and mods myself. Front end is off a 2005 CRF450X and was professionally installed by myself with attention to every detail such as the steering stops. Bike has a the following upgrades:
Acerbis rally guards
Bonz mounts for the Acerbis
BRP top triple clamp
Pro taper bars
FMF power bomb stainless header
XRs only muffler
XRs only countershaft cover
XRs only magnetic drain plugs
XRs only heavy duty chain guide (not yet installed)
Hel steel braded brake lines
ASV levers
Tagasako Excel rims laced to stock hubs which were professionally painted.
Ironman rear sprocket
Daves carb mods
XR600 foam air filter
EBC 280mm front brake disc with black anodized caliper bracket
Voyager GPS with billet CNC protective case custom mounted.
Carbon fiber dash with LED indicator lights
After market front turn signals
I'm sure I'm forgetting a thing or two.
The bike runs like it should. Ive owned a bunch of XR600s and 650s and this one by far is the best running with amazing bottom end grunt thanks to the exhaust system and carb mods.

Selling to fund a larger adventure bike which has better payload capacity. I might be interested in trading for a BMW GS and some cash or a KTM adventure and some cash.
5500 USD OBO. You won't find a nicer custom XR. Every mod done to this bike was carefully thought out and professionally done.

Happy 50th Hizzy

Wed, 11 Jan 2012

On the 11th January 1962, Steve Hislop was born in Hawick, Scotland. Today would have been his 50th birthday, but he was tragically killed in a helicopter accident in 2003. Hizzy was a genius on a motorbike and when he was happy with everything around him, he was amongst the best in the world.

Someone is Takin' the Mick

Thu, 30 Sep 2010

Pull out the slippers and plant yourself in front of a log fire and let Mick Grant talk you through his racing career. With a foreword from our Whit', the book details Granty's life from his Yorkshire roots through to all of his seven TT wins and the intense rivalry with Barry Sheene in the 1970s. Don't judge the book by it's cover, it's not a disaster like the out-of-focus oval-pistoned Honda NR500 but a good read.
