Honda XR tech info
Honda XR description
This XR400R is a single owner, adult ridden machine in very good condition. These are the venerable air cooled XRs long known for their outstanding durability and comfort. The motor is a 4 valve, RFVC four stroke with a 5 speed transmission, and torque based power delivery. As such, they are very capable and fun to ride trail bikes. They have a reported dry weight of 257 lbs, 11.8 inches for front fork travel and 11.1 inches rear suspension travel and has almost 12" of ground clearance. It has an upgraded aluminum skid plate, aluminum rear brake caliper protector and ACERBIS handguards. Original hand guards included.
This bike was properly broken in, synthetic oil exclusively after the first 1250 miles, has the oversized CLARK BAJA tank which holds approximately 4 gallons providing superb range. This bike is tagged and titled, street legal in Colorado and Florida (your state requirements may vary- ie blinkers. horn etc). Always garaged, no sun damage. There is a minor tear in the seat cover as shown in photograph, a minor ding in the stock muffler and minor scratches to be expected with a dirt bike. It has a NEW Dunlop D756 front and the rear is a Dunlop Desert AT with about 70% tread remaining. . . . see pictures. There is a minor ding in rear rim, does not affect performance. While these odometers do not track cumulative mileage- I would estimate mileage at around 4,250 miles, of which 1,500 are on road miles. This bike has had a recent service and is ready to ride. Chain and sprockets are in fair condition and have been properly maintained. A new chain and SUPERSPROX steel/aluminum rear sprocket are included with sale. |

MotoGP should return to Suzuka
Thu, 14 Jul 2011Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.
Long Live The Kings
Fri, 21 Sep 2012This short film features a Honda and a pair of flat-twin Beemers customised by Paris-based Blitz Motorcycles. It was shot exclusively on super 16mm film and looks stunning. But more importantly, loads of fun.
If you thought the license test was hard in America…
Thu, 28 Apr 2011I’ll be the first to admit that the procedure to get a motorcycle endorsement (and a car license for that matter) in this country is incredibly easy. If you’re smart, you sit in a classroom for a few hours, answer some basic questions, learn all the controls, perform a simple riding test, and you’re off to the races. Look at what the Japanese have to do to get their certification! Check out the video after the jump.
