Honda XR description

I bought this bike several years ago from a guy in the cities, he never really rode it much, but he did the hard part of getting a title and reg. this bike. I reg. it here in wis and had no issues, I been told getting a tittle for these bikes is hard, because they were intended on being a off road only bike. the tires have been replace with dot road legal tires, so I was told. it has a speedo meter and a odemeter which has been on since new, again so I was told. it shows 957 mis. I got it about 8 yrs ago and it had about 300 mis on it then. I just love the bike, but I don't put enough miles on it to justify keeping it. its very fast and very fun to drive. its very dependable. it has been uncorked. and has the Baja headlamp system on it. it could use a new battery pack back up, these can be made up from std household batterys or batteries plus made me 1 when I got it for about $30. call or text no trades and price is firm.

Crossover Honda CRF450R again upgraded

Wed, 24 May 2017

The first update is related to the kickstarter, or rather, its absence: now the “single-barrel” in the basic version is started by an electric starter with a very light Li-ion battery. The second difference of the newly rejuvenated CRF450R is the suspension with changed settings - obviously, it steers more fun and perky than before.

Honda Announces 400cc Version of 500-Series Engine

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Honda has revealed a new, smaller-displacement variation of the 470cc parallel-twin engine introduced on its new CBR500, CB500F and CB500X models. The new engine has a bore of 67mm, just like Honda‘s 500-series engine, but a stroke of 56.6mm instead of the longer 66.8mm. The result is an engine displacement of 399cc, which makes the new engine a better fit for markets such as Japan license restrictions are much stricter for engines larger than 400cc.

BMW 1000RR and the Honda C70, are they indestructible?

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

I’ve managed 1374 miles on the Michelin Power Pures (mostly on track) and although we’ve had some decent temperatures they still look like new so there’s plenty meat left for another month at least. I’ve been running them at 30psi front and 32psi rear and find they warm up after a few miles but I wouldn’t say the temperature comes any quicker than any of the competition so it has to be four miles before I get brave. I’ve had a few out the seat moments with my BMW but I have got the rear suspension  set pretty hard (8 rebound,8 compression, two turns on pre load) and in slick mode, so 190bhp in first gear at the Knockhill hairpin is always going to be dodgy.
