Honda VTX description

2006 Honda Vtx 1800, I have for sale a 2006 Honda VTX1800F Spec 2. From the factory the bike is equipped with a linked braking system for superior stopping power, inverted forks front suspension for a smooth ride, shaft drive for direct power transfer and less maintenance over a chain or belt, LED taillight so you are seen by other motorists, and an 1800cc V-Twin engine for unmatched power and smooth operation. If you are familiar with Honda motorcycles you know their proven track record of reliability and ride-ability. This bike is not for beginners, it is not a Sportster. I am asking $8799 or best offer. It currently has 5,935 miles but is still occasionally ridden so mileage will increase slightly until sold. The bike has the following accessories: Vance & Hines Big Shots, Baron's Big Air Kit w/Chrome Cover, Power Commander III w/ Custom Dyno Tune (92.14 HP/105.88 TQ @ the wheel), Saddlemen Teardrop Studded Saddle Bags w/Bag Supports, Cobra Backrest and Luggage Rack, Memphis Shades Tall Black Gradient Windshield, Newer Front Tire (Dunlop D408F). This is a great bike, with tons of power. It is the F model Spec 2 VTX so it has the sporty fenders and cast wheels. Please no tire kickers or lowballers. More pictures available upon request as well as a copy of the dyno sheet proving the power and proper air fuel ratio, this bike is tuned for the higher elevation. Thanks for looking and I am accepting all reasonable offers. $8,799.00 3076304314

MotoGP should return to Suzuka

Thu, 14 Jul 2011

Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.

Mon, 28 Nov 2011

Valentino Rossi is back on the podium. Not a MotoGP podium, mind, but for a rally car race at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. (Post updated with video.) Driving a Ford Fiesta RS with co-driver Carlo Cassina, Rossi won two of nine stages and finished second overall to eight-time World Rally Car Champion Sebastien Loeb at the 2011 Monza Rally Show.

How to solve the mystery of the wildcard replacement

Wed, 30 Jun 2010

With the two test riders coming forward to act as replacement riders for the injured Rossi and Aoyama, it brought back memories of the days when the grid would be gifted with wildcard riders from the respective countries. The Japanese rounds were always attended by some of the top guys with experience of the 500GP and MotoGP bikes, through racing them in their domestic championships. What resulted was getting to witness the exciting and talented Japanese riders, and bring new riders to the attention of the teams.
