Posting this for my wife's uncle, he recently went into a nursing home. 2005 Honda VTX1300R, the "R" stands for retro. Classic cruiser look with big fenders and foot boards. Bike is in nice shape, showing no signs of ever being dropped or laid down. Front tire is worn out and will need replacement. Rear tire is good for at least another season. I don't know the maintenance history of the bike, but it does run well. Handling is a little sketchy because of the worn front tire. I hear a noise from the front brakes kind of like the rotor has a little runout. Wheels show some oxidation and could use a good cleaning. Other than that she runs good. 47K miles. Day 11 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins, Extends Overall Lead
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Day 11 marked the longest stage to date of the Dakar Rally, as the competitors tackled the 605km (376 miles) special stage, covering a variety of terrain, hard ground, mountains, plus 120km (75 miles) of sand and dunes in the Copiapo area. Despite this, and a fall at the beginning of the stage, Marc Coma again demonstrated his status as boss of the Dakar 2014, by picking up his third victory of the year, further reinforcing his position at the top of the general standings. Five-time Dakar winner Cyril Depres opened the piste for 400km before dropping slightly to finish just 02:31 behind Marc Coma in first.
Rea and Haslam Re-Sign with Pata Honda for 2014 WSBK Championship
Tue, 01 Oct 2013The Pata Honda racing team announced it has re-signed Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam to compete in the 2014 World Superbike Championship. It’s been a disappointing season for both rider, thanks in large part to injuries. Rea is currently on the shelf with a fractured femur sustained in a crash at Nurburgring while Haslam also missed several rounds earlier in the season because of a broken leg.
