Honda VTX description

I had this bike up for auction a few weeks ago and had to end the auction early as the bike failed to start, turned out to be a defective fuel pump which I replaced over the weekend. For your consideration is a 2003 Honda VTX1800C which I purchased new in March '03. I only rode this bike for special events such as Sturgis, Laconia and Daytona Bikeweeks.....I have another bike for local riding. The bike runs perfectly and is an absolute pleasure to ride, its a big, great handling bike and extremely powerful. The stock exhaust was modified by Sturgis Thunder in 2008, sounds like a big block Chevy!

I've performed all the preventive maintenance on the bike myself, the oil and filter were just changed along with a new battery being installed.

The bike has a wide Mustang seat, the forward controls have been extended six inches. I still have the stock controls if the buyer would prefer having them. I installed the sissy bar and pad, a D&S tachometer and a billet aluminum air cleaner. The tires are Avon Venoms with less than 500 miles on them. Included are two fuel management modules..... a B&B performance computer and a Cobra Fi2000. Cobra passenger floorboards were also added.

Local pick up only. The bike is available for in person inspection if you wish.

Honda Fury Special Edition Controversy?

Fri, 17 Jul 2009

It seems the idea that there is a “special edition” Honda Fury has achieved urban-legend levels. Motorcycle.com recently spoke to Jon Seidel of American Honda to clarify some of the controversy generated in www.furyforums.com regarding a special edition Fury model. According to Seidel, no mention was ever made to the media during the Fury’s press unveiling or in any press material or at any other time, “that any Fury color or specific Fury model was a special edition.” Seidel stated that he also queried Honda’s product planning department about the existence of any special edition models and reported that no information had ever been released or implied from Honda Product Planning as to the existence of a Fury SE.

Own A Scale Model Of The Elf5, One Of The Most Unique Racing Motorcycles Ever

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

If you’re a fan of scale model racing motorcycle kits, this 1/12 scale model of the Elf5 racer, as ridden by Ron Haslam in 1988, should make your mouth water. Designed by famous F1 designer André de Cortanze, the Elf5 was the culmination of a radical experiment by de Cortanze and Elf, the French petroleum giant. And even though it didn’t claim the racing success Cortanze and Elf had hoped, the experimental Elf motorcycles hold a distinctive place in motorcycle racing history, with some of its technology still in use today.  Powered by a Honda NSR500 V4 engine that served as a stressed member and main mounting structure for the single-sided swingarms both front and rear, this recently released scale model is based closely on the actual Elf5 racing machines. This full detailed kit maintains the single-sided suspension, with the front suspension consisting of aluminum alloy and springs that will be partly movable.
