Honda VTX description

2003 Honda VTX Retro1300.

This is a well cared for, garage kept 03 Retro with the 1300cc engine.  It has low miles (5143) and has never missed a tune up or oil change.  The paint is in excellent condition, with just the right amount of wear, from a bike with 5k miles on it.  No major scratches, dings, dents, never been in an accident, never laid down.  The battery was replaced last year.  The tires will need to be replaced soon.  Other than that she is road ready.  This bike is low loud and has some decent power, definitely a head turner with the custom paint and aftermarket parts.

AFTERMARKET AND CUSTOM PARTS:

Black paint with white racing stripes

Dual chrome drag pipes (These pipes not only look amazing on this bike but they sound incredible).

Chrome bullet style taillights (good-bye huge ugly stock ones)

Progressive suspension

Relocated the tail light and the bake light to the left side

Mustang seat (barely broken in)

Chrome side covers, engine covers, billet and chrome accessories

Tear drop mirror (mirror only on the right side)

Braided cables

Leather wrapped brake and clutch grips

Chrome air filter

I'm sure there are a few extra add-ons that I have forgotten.  Basically everything that can be bought aftermarket in chrome for this bike has been bought.  The suspension has been lowered making this bike sit very low and comfortable. I have another Corbin solo seat for this bike, it is black with "skunk" stitched on it and also a backrest that I am including with this bike.  You can pick them up with the bike or I will ship them to the winner free of charge.  If I come across any other extras I have for this bike that I have forgotten, I will send those as well.

I have owned this Honda for about 3 years now and have really only ridden about 500 miles in that time.  I have several other motorcycles and this one just never got the road time it deserves.  I have always ridden Hondas and find them to be great performing motorcycles and this one is a true example of that. Great power from the 1300cc engine and it handles incredibly well.  I love the forward controls and the mustang seat make this a ride you can take for hundreds of miles at a times.  I always got compliments on the retro styling, in my opinion the aftermarket taillights, paint, and lowered stance really add to that retro feel.  It has aftermarket drag pipes that sound great, very loud and paired with the new air filter it has great power as well.  I am selling because I have found that classic car I've always wanted and need to make some room in the garage (as well as free up some $$$).  Please feel free to ask me any questions and I will respond as quickly as I can.  There is NO RESERVE on this bike so bid to win.  No offers please, I am selling this motorcycle as an auction, with no reserve at this time.  This Honda is in excellent condition with low miles on an 03, making it pretty much a new bike and certainly one of a kind.  Again this motorcycle has always been well taken care of and needs to go to someone who will continue to do the same, but perhaps ride this one more than I did.  I have a clear Georgia title in my name, in my hand.  I will include the title in the same package as the extra seat and parts.  This motorcycle is being sold as-is.

SHIPPING and PAYMENT:

I require a $250 deposit sent through paypal within 48 hour of the auction ending. The deposit is non refundable.  The remaining balance is due by money order or cashiers check within 14 days of the auction ending.  Neither the motorcycle nor the title will be handed over until the full amount has been received.  I would like to ask that the buyer sends a confirmation email to me when the MO or cashiers check has been mailed.  This bike is available for local pick up or can be readied to ship.  If you would like to pick up in person, I require the bike to be picked up within 14 days of the auction ending.  IF you are picking up, you can pay the remaining balance with cash in person. I need to be notified of arrangements to pickup within 7 days of auction ending.  If you are going to have the bike shipped, all arrangements, fees, costs, charges, are to be paid by you, the buyer.  I will assit in any way I can, such as draining fuel, etc.  I will need confirmation of the date the bike will be picked up by the freight company within 7 days of the auction ending.  The bike must be picked up by the trucking company within 14 days of the auction ending.  If you have any questions about payment or shipping Please email me before placing a bid.

Thanks for looking at my VTX and have a great day,

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDS!

Things I wouldn't like to race: Part 1

Mon, 25 Jul 2011

Now I know that Mike Hailwood raced a 6-cylinder Honda but that's no excuse for this CBX I spotted at the Bikers Days Spa Classic. The 1047cc, inline 6 cylinder, 24 Valve, DOHC Honda might be a feat of engineering brilliance but it looks like it would be a right handful on track. I've added a picture of an oil tanker to give you an idea of just how long the CBX's wheelbase really is.
