Honda Sold 16.8 Million Motorcycles in 2013
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Honda announced sales of 16.8 million motorcycles in 2013, an improvement of 8.7% from the 15.5 million motorcycles sold in 2012. The announcement was made two days before Honda’s third quarter report for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2013, so we will have to wait to hear the financial impact, but based on these numbers, the quarterly report should be positive.
Honda Announces 400cc Version of 500-Series Engine
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Honda has revealed a new, smaller-displacement variation of the 470cc parallel-twin engine introduced on its new CBR500, CB500F and CB500X models. The new engine has a bore of 67mm, just like Honda‘s 500-series engine, but a stroke of 56.6mm instead of the longer 66.8mm. The result is an engine displacement of 399cc, which makes the new engine a better fit for markets such as Japan license restrictions are much stricter for engines larger than 400cc.
2014 Honda CBR300R Specs Revealed
Fri, 18 Oct 2013Specifications for the 2014 Honda CBR300R have surfaced from CIMAMotor in Chongqing, China, where the new small-displacement sportsbike made its debut. Based on this, we surmise the engine is indeed based on the CBR250R’s engine which has a similar 76mm bore, but with a 55mm stroke.
