Not only is it easily the most distinctive custom we’ve ever built, but it’s comparable to one-off custom-house choppers costing ten times as much—except that it probably works and rides twice as well. Long, lean and mean, stretching nearly six feet from axle to axle, this machine is a real head-turner. And once you settle into the saddle, turn the key and fire up that big 1,312 cc V-twin, you’ll know this is the bike you’ve been dreaming about.DIMENSIONSWEIGHT 666 lbs.WHEELBASE 71.2 in.SEAT HEIGHT 26.9 in.ENGINEENGINE 52° V-twin, SOHC, 3 valves per cylinderDISPLACEMENT 1,312 ccBORE X STROKE 89.5 x 104.3 mmCOMPRESSION RATIO 9.2:1CARBURETION PGM-FI with automatic enrichment circuit, 38 mm throttle bodyFUEL CAPACITY 3.4 gal.MPG RATING 45IGNITION Digital with 3-D mapping, 2 spark plugs per cylinderCOOLING LiquidDRIVETRAINTRANSMISSION 5-speedFINAL DRIVE ShaftBRAKES/WHEELS/TIRESBRAKES Front: Single 336 mm disc with twin-piston caliperRear: Single 296 mm disc with single-piston caliperTIRES Front: 90/90-21Rear: 200/50-18OPERATIONALSUSPENSION Front: 45 mm fork 4 in. travelRear: Single shock with adjustable rebound damping and 5-position spring-preload adjustability 3.7 in. travelRAKE 32°TRAIL 3.6 in. Cool Cycles Ice Cream

Mon, 20 Apr 2009

John Gibson had a vision 15 years ago to sell ice cream from a motorcycle sidecar, inspired while running as he listening to motivational guru, Tony Robins. After years of experimenting with different bikes and setups, including using the Russian made Ural (he once owned a Ural dealership), Gibson, finally settled on the Honda 750 Shadow and the Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster. The Cool Cycles Ice Cream Company is open for business, the headquarters are located in Tacoma, WA where they will start selling franchises within a 100 mile radius, the Los Angeles area will be next and Las Vegas to follow.

Honda’s New Documentary: Dreams vs Nightmares [trailer]

Wed, 24 Jun 2009

Honda have been releasing video documentaries on… well… everything!  Why?  Well to toot their own horn and remind you that Honda is crazy cool. Actually, their videos aren’t that bad, although somewhat dramatic.  I hunkered down and watched their “Failure: The Secret to Success” video and it held my attention. Their new video is titled “Dreams vs Nightmares”, which features a few notable people such as Clive Barker and Deepak Chopra.  I’m curious to see how they take this theme and use it to show how and why Honda creates and designs the products they make.
