Honda Other description
On September 6, 2006, Honda revealed an all new CBR600RR for the 2007 model year: The CBR600's most radical redesign since the introduction of the RR in 2003 is highlighted by a whole new engine, frame, and bodywork that results in a smaller, lighter, more-powerful CBR600RR with a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and unparalleled performance. The weight savings compared to the 2006 model was a 20lb reduction in dry weight. In redesigning the CBR600RR for lighter weight and increased performance, Honda's engineers started with the engine. The completely new engine was smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the designers having pre-owned careful positioning of all internal components to achieve significant reductions in the motor's length, width, and height. Horsepower increased to about 105 horsepower measured in independent tests. The frame is lighter, slimmer, and more compact than that of the 2006 CBR600RR. The frame was produced using what Honda calls Fine Die-Cast (FDC) technology, which allowed them to build a lighter frame without compromising strength or rigidity. The handling of the new bike was sharpened by its 0.87 in shorter wheelbase, as well as by the designer's focus on strict mass centralization. Despite the shorter wheelbase, the 2007 model's swingarm is 0.20 in longer than that of the 2006, made possible by the more compact dimensions of the new bike's engine. The suspension of the 2007 model was carried over almost unchanged from the 2006 bike, with the same 1.61 in inverted fork in front, and Honda's Unit Pro-Link rear suspension configuration damping the rear wheel. The new three-spoke cast aluminum wheels were also lighter than those on the 2006 bike, which further contributes to the enhanced performance of the suspension. The brakes feature dual radial-mount four-piston calipers and twin 12.20 in discs at the front, and a single-piston caliper and a 8.66 in disc at the rear. Hidden below the steering head was an updated version of the Honda Elect ...

Top box trauma
Wed, 24 Nov 2010I've struggled with my Honda hard luggage over the past few months, I have to admit. To much office hilarity (and piss taking) I managed to lose the top box just a few miles from the office. I thought the locating mechanism was fastened securely but the first rapid getaway from the first set of traffic lights on Upper Street proved me wrong. It was at least a mile before I noticed that my top box was absent.
Joey Dunlop on a V4 Honda at the '83 TT
Fri, 28 Sep 2012Onboard video footage doesn't get a lot better than this: Joey Dunlop during practice at the TT in 1983 onboard a factory Honda RS850R. An 859cc ultra-short stroke V4 Honda that Joey mastered around The Island, later winning the TT Formula 1. Although the 'production' race, the RS850R stretched that to the limit.
Old Spice ad gets, er, spiced up
Fri, 02 Jul 2010WE CAN'T believe an aftershave worn by most of our grandfathers is still on sale, or that people actually buy it, but Old Spice has given a new twist to their popular TV ad by including a motorcycle in the promo. The commercial stars former American football player Isaiah Mustafa and ends with, what looks like, a 1970s Honda twin in a jacuzzi. It's all completely bizarre but clever.
