Honda Announces 400cc Version of 500-Series Engine

Honda has revealed a new, smaller-displacement variation of the 470cc parallel-twin engine introduced on its new CBR500, CB500F and CB500X models. The new engine has a bore of 67mm, just like Honda‘s 500-series engine, but a stroke of 56.6mm instead of the longer 66.8mm. The result is an engine displacement of 399cc, which makes the new engine a better fit for markets such as Japan license restrictions are much stricter for engines larger than 400cc.

Stats ahead of Estoril MotoGP round

The MotoGP circus moves into it's tenth appearance at the Estoril circuit, with the Portugease circuit playing host to a Grand Prix event in each of the previous nine years since the introduction of the four-stroke MotoGP formula at in 2002. Below is a reminder of the highlights of the previous nine MotoGP races held at Estoril: 2002 – Having won the last 500cc GP race at Estoril in 2001, Valentino Rossi (Honda) won the first of the MotoGP races held at the circuit. Honda Reports Q4 2012-2013 Results – North American Motorcycle Sales Up 25%

Honda reported sales of 15.5 million motorcycles for its fiscal year ended March 31, 2013. That marks a 2.8% increase from the 15.1 motorcycles sold the previous fiscal year. Sales were particularly strong in North America where Honda reported a 25% increase in motorcycles sold.
