Honda Reveals NSF250R Moto3 Racebike Specs

Honda has released official specs for its new NSF250R racebike developed for the new Moto3 class which will debut in the 2012 Grand Prix World Championship season. The Honda NSF250R’s four-stroke single-cylinder engine was developed specifically for Moto3 competition, promising power delivery in the high rpm range. The engine is equipped with titanium valves and uses an offset cylinder with a nickel silicon carbide surface treatment to reduce friction and improve durability.

Ronax 500 – the Street Legal Two-Stroke GP Replica

After teasing us for nearly two months, German brand Ronax has revealed its 500cc two-stroke sportbike. Ronax isn’t saying it’s a street-legal replica of the Honda NSR500 that Valentino Rossi rode to win the 2001 Grand Prix world championship – probably because they legally can’t – but that’s essentially what the 500 is. Geeky snippets ahead of the Phillip Island MotoGP

Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. In 1998 and 1999 he won the 250cc races and since then has had nine podiums in the premier-class including five victories, the last of which was in 2005.
