2014 Mugen Shinden San Revealed

Mugen have released these pictures of the 2014 Shinden San (three), the electric racebike Honda’s performance subsidiary is hoping will take victory at this year’s Isle of Man TT Zero event. The past two years the Mugen motorcycles have come second to the radical E1pc Motoczysz machines piloted by Michael Rutter. Details are relatively basic at the moment, but underneath the bodywork, Mugen says the latest Shinden sees lithium-ion battery mated to an oil-cooled three-phase brushless motor producing 134 hp and a whopping 162 ft.-lbs.

If you were ever curious how to convert your smelly, noisy and dirty gas powered motorcycle into a quiet and zero emissions electric motorcycle then you have to check this video out from GomiStyle.  They take an old Honda Rebel 250 and customize the frame to accommodate the electric motor and batteries, they claim the conversion should take about two to three days to complete, the batteries will take about 5-8 hours to charge and will give you a top speed of 45 mph. Virginia Tech Bolt To Race At NJMP, July 12-13

The Virginia Tech Bolt e-bike racing team will compete in the July 12-13 zero emissions road race at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville NJ. This race is part of the eMotoRacing series, which runs in conjunction with AHRMA. The 96 volt student-built prototype racebike will compete in the eSuperSport class against a field of production based Brammo Empulses. The Bolt Team is no stranger to competition, as it has previous experience racing in the TTXGP series in 2012.
