Honda Other tech info
Honda Other description
1998 Honda Superhawk VTR1000, This is an excellent condition 2nd owner sport bike with less than 21k miles. Definitely not for a beginner. It comes with Michelin Pilot Power 3's with less than 400 miles on them. The bike is OEM except for the 2 Brothers exhaust and jetting. Radiator has been flushed recently and all oil changes are with Mobil 1 4T synthetic. The brakes lines have been flushed in the past 6 months. The rear brake pads are new. The chain was replaced with the tires. The bike comes with 2 Honda keys (not those cheesy Ace Hardware cuts), the original owner's manual, and the OEM toolkit! Everything works like it did in the showroom and it needs nothing but a new rider. Never been dropped or raced. Arizona Title, not-salvage or liens. Cash only, no trades or Western Union funny business. Below is an excerpt from Cycle World Magazine where they named the SuperHawk one of the best used bikes in 2010 Basic specs: A 996cc, 90-degree V-Twin sportbike making 103 rear-wheel horsepower that propelled the 452-pound VTR to an 11.03-second/124.26-mph quarter-mile and a top speed of 155 mph. Why it won: Without a doubt, the Super Hawk was one of the most enjoyable, affordable and user-friendly--but nonetheless extremely capable--sport machines ever built. Not only did it capture a Ten Best award in 1997, it also won CW's 16-bike "Sweet 16" Open-Class sportbike shootout that same year. It wasn't a serious threat on the racetrack, but as many riders of repli-racer sportbikes of that era could attest, trying to catch one on a twisty backroad was a genuine eye-opener. On top of all that, the Super Hawk was a sportbike you could ride all day without needing a six-pack of ibuprofen and a weekly appointment with your chiropractor. From the 2001 Ten Best story: "Honda's designers aimed the VTR at sporting street riders, not roadracers, and its 'tuned chassis,' perfectly calibrated suspension and spot-on carburetion show they scored a direct hit." Useful resources: You can learn a lot about the Super Hawk (called the Firestorm outside the U.S.) on the Internet. You'll find quite a few for sale, along with numerous forums, some technical Q&A posts, lots of sites selling VTR parts and accessories, and a surprising number of photos of cool, clever VTR1000F-based customs.

Honda VFR1200F – First Impressions
Fri, 23 Oct 2009Honda’s new VFR1200F in action at Sugo in Japan. UPDATE: 2010 Honda VFR1200F Review - First Ride Article I’m here at the Sugo Sportsland racetrack in Japan, an odd place for what seems to be a sport-touring machine like the new VFR1200F. But my time at Sugo today was one of the most incredible riding experiences of my career.
