Item Details

For sale is this vintage 1978 Honda Twinstar CM185T motorcycle in perfect working condition. An absolutely fantastic motorcycle for a beginner or someone smaller in stature, this unassuming bike is both beautiful and an immense pleasure to ride. It is extremely well preserved, features fantastic factory specs., and will certainly become your favorite mode of transportation. In my opinion, this particular version also has the best graphic combo, with subtle colors and pleasant typography. While this model has always been considered cute by most, it was until recently that mechanics have chosen the CM185T as the foundation for a smaller hot-rod moto. While the results are incredible, this 100% original 2-owner example is certainly worth preserving. Don't miss out on this low price listing with Worldwide shipping!

With no visible rust, no body damage, no previous accidents, no hot-dogging, the only issue is the brights are currently intermittent, which is most likely a very simple issue if not user error. A new battery has been installed and just been fully charged/juiced. All of the fluids have been changed and it is currently fully serviced and ready to ride. The original luggage rack and extra foot pedal rack are included: these alone have sold for upward of $350 a piece due to their respective rarity. It hasn't been registered since 2004, and I do not have a pink slip (because the previous owner never received it), so the new owner will have to perform a lien sale via the DMV to re-acquire a new non-salvage title.

It would be difficult to imagine a better example becoming available anytime soon, as this particular bike has been well-maintained since purchased new. There is a very very light fluid leak from the petrol tap valve, but it can easily be resolved with a $35 part.

The Twinstar has a 181 cc, or 11.04 cubic-inch, engine with two cylinders and two valves per cylinder. The bore and stroke of the engine was 2.1 by 1.6 inches and the compression ratio was 9 to 1. The engine was air-cooled, four-stroke and used an overhead cam to control the valves.

The bike has a chain final drive system to transfer engine power to turn the rear wheels and used a four-speed gearbox. Both brakes were drum types, with internal shoes expanding to slow the wheels. The bike weighs 302 lbs. and has a fuel tank with a 2.9-gallon capacity.

The Twinstar produces 10 horsepower at 7,500 revolutions per minute and had a top speed of 57.8 mph.

Day 4 Dakar 2014: Juan Pedrero Wins Stage Aboard Sherco

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Stage 4 of the 2014 Dakar saw Juan Pedrero take his maiden victory aboard a Sherco SR 450 Rally. Although not in contention for the overall, Pedrero showed he has outgrown his previous role as Marc Coma’s lieutenant at KTM by bringing his Sherco across the finish line 3:10 faster than third place Coma and 29 seconds faster than second place finisher Francisco Lopez. Coma’s performance in today’s stage moved him to only 3:10 behind overall leader Joan Barreda.

Honda VFR1200F Launch: Tokyo (no) Show

Wed, 21 Oct 2009

IF YOU'VE never been to the Tokyo show before, let me tell you this: you’re missing nowt.‘You picked a bad year to come,’ said the Yamaha designer and he was spot on. Three halls of mainly Japanese car manufacturers and lots of empty spaces wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. Maybe my expectations were too great, maybe I should have been expecting my glass to be half empty?
