1973 Honda TL 125, I bought this motorcycle from the estate of the original owner who was a friend of mine. It had been sitting in a heated garage for several decades. I had it running in 2006 but decided last fall to get a complete nine month frame-off restoration at a well known restoration shop in Ohio. No expense was spared in this restoration which cost in excess of $4500. The 4-stroke engine was also rebuilt and always starts on the first kick. I realize that this is expensive for this bike, but if you want most likely the best example on the planet of a Honda TL 125, Honda's first production Trials motorbike, this is it. Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.
2013 AMA Supercross San Diego Race Report
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Davi Millsaps captured his second main event win of the season and expanded his AMA Supercross championship lead to 19 points with a wire-to-wire victory at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The Rockstar Energy Suzuki rider jumped ahead at the start for the holeshot and held that lead for the entire 20-lap race for the win. Finishing 2.386 seconds back was Team Honda Muscle Milk‘s Justin Barcia while Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey finished 10.300 seconds back for third place.
US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
