Honda Magna description

Hi, This is a bike I picked up in the early spring and went thru everything. I rebuilt all the master cylinders, the calipers, clutch slave cylinder. New brake lines, SS braided on front, regular stock on the back. New fork seals ( the original problem with the bike). New brakes all around. I ultrasonically cleaned the carbs and installed a Dynojet stage 1 jet kit. Now it runs right. I installed the upgrade oiling system which uses oil lines from the oil filter to the heads instead of old oil from on top of the transmission. The tires are good, I changed the oil in the diff, checked the u-joints. This is running Engine Ice coolant with Water Wetter and has an add on fan switch for those hot commute times. This bike has a large windscreen and the expensive, hard to find KG adjustable backrest. It has a thumb throttle lock for highway cruising. I threw on some cheap saddlebags for convenience. I installed a set of forward controls on it and yet retained the stock foot pegs for comfort. The bike comes with some extra parts, like another set of brake pads, a Haynes Manual, rear brake lever and engine guard if you want to take off the forward controls and a replacement ignition key set and tank lock as the current one sometimes sticks. Of course, it has a fresh battery and Maxima oil change in it. I added an oil pressure gauge to it but that can be removed quickly if you don't want it.

The bike runs great, I just can't swing my bad knees over the tail anymore.

Honda’s V-4 History

Tue, 06 Oct 2009

As Honda prepares its new VFR1200 for its official unveiling, the red-wing company has set up a website detailing its long involvement in V-4 engines. It began back in 1979 with the introduction of the NR500 grand prix racebike. Rather than fielding a 500cc two-stroke engine, Honda used a four-stroke oval-piston V-4 motor – essentially a V-8 with four cylinders that could be revved to 19,500 rpm!

2012 Honda Fireblade and NC700X launch

Mon, 21 Nov 2011

I'm chucking a few essential items into my massive stuffa bag, ready to go to Portimao tomorrow for the International launch of not just the Honda NC700X but also the new Fireblade, too. You couldn't fathom two bikes at further ends of the scale. One all about performance and speed, the other about user-friendliness and thrift.

Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Affects Honda CTX700, Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki Ninja 250R and Possibly More

Wed, 17 Jul 2013

Last week, we wrote about a recall in Canada for the ABS system on the 2014 Honda CTX700N and the CTX700T (known everywhere else as simply the CTX700), affecting 13 units north of the border. We can now confirm that the recall also affects U.S. models as well as models from other manufacturers using the same components from Nissin.
