Honda CBR250R Sticking Around for 2014, Getting Facelift to Match New CBR300R

Earlier this month, Honda unveiled a new CBR300R model at the CIMAMotor show in Chongqing, China. The assumption was the 286cc CBR300R would replace the CBR250R as Honda’s entry-level sportbike. The CBR250R isn’t completely disappearing however, as Honda announced the 2014 version will be appearing at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Nov.

2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. Shunji Yokokawa

Honda Project Leader Shunji Yokokawa's first Honda bike was a CB900, which he got when he was a teenager after seeing Freddie Spencer wheeling his way down the Laguna's Corkscrew.Yokokawa has been in the States himself recently, having travelled to the Bonneville Salt Flats to break a world land speed record for a stock 600cc motorcycle.According to the Southern California Timing Association website (you'd have thought the video might have mentioned something about the record?), Shunji was successful in his attempt during August's 'Speed Week', setting an official speed of 170.828mph onboard a CBR600RR.
