US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

Stoner Tops Time Sheets as Honda MotoGP Testing Resumes

Missing a day of testing didn’t appear to have a negative effect on Honda riders Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa. After missing the second day of testing because of a potential engine problem, the Repsol Honda riders were back on the track for Day 3 where they regained the top two spots on the time sheets. Honda held back Stoner and Pedrosa as well as satellite team riders Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl yesterday to investigate an engine warning light that lit up on the dash of Pedrosa’s RC213V on Day 1.

American Honda announced a number of returning 2013 models with new color options but the most eye-catching of the new paint jobs is the Repsol-edition CBR250R. Dressed to resemble Casey Stoner‘s and Dani Pedrosa‘s Honda RC213V MotoGP race bikes, the 2013 Repsol edition Honda CBR250R sports the Spanish petroleum company’s orange with red and white colors, the Honda Racing Corporation logo and the “One Heart” motto of Honda’s Indonesian joint venture which also sponsors the MotoGP team.
