Honda Gold Wing description

1975 Goldwing GL1000 with Jupiter sidecar. This Goldwing has lived most (if not all) of its life in Arizona. It is in nice shape for its age and very unique as well as being a first year of production Goldwing. It had been sitting in dry storage for approx. 7 years when I got it. The carburetors have been rebuilt, the timing belts replaced and the cooling system has been gone through. I replaced the waterpump with a good used one and resealed the waterpump housing. Bike starts and runs good but I have not driven it except about 1/2 mile or so from home at a time. Brakes work as they should, tires have lots of tread but age unknown. The sidecar is in great shape and even has an auxiliary fuel tank in it that is plumbed into the bike, looks to be 3 to 5 gallons but I have not filled it up or tested it. This side car is made by BN of Russia, the front top portion of the cab slides forward for easy entry. Windshield is in great shape and even has vintage Intaglio engraved sidewings.

This bikes gets lots of looks and is very 1970's vintage in appearance, lots of upgrades have been done to bike to customize it over the years. It has normal wear and tear for a 38 year old bike. Bid to win, you may never see another one like this come along.

Parrish's predictions for Silverstone MotoGP

Fri, 18 Jun 2010

I'm at Silverstone for the British MotoGP and Steve Parrish spoke to us all about his predictions for the podium. Parrish has gone for Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa to take the top three spots and spray the bubbly at the end of the race. Not too sure on his call though as I think Dani will be riding on a high after winning at Mugello and surely the speedy Spaniard will take full advantage and wring the neck of the Honda at the (supposedly) high speed Silverstone Circuit.

Report: Dorna to Replace Superstock Classes with More Stock-Inspired WSBK and New 250cc Class

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

The coming World Superbike racing season may be the last to feature Superstock classes as series promoter Dorna tries to differentiate its WSBK and MotoGP properties. According to Italian outlet Motosprint, Dorna plans to rewrite the World Superbike and Supersport class rulebooks for the 2014 season to make the race bikes closer to their respective production models. This would create further separation between WSBK and MotoGP, with Superbike racing moving closer to its production-based roots while prototypes racing in the GP series.

2011 Isle of Man TT Recap

Fri, 10 Jun 2011

The Isle of Man TT usually provides a lot of drama, and this year’s event was no different. John McGuinness, second on the all-time TT wins list, added two more wins to his resume to win the Joey Dunlop Trophy while MotoCzysz once again fell just short of taking the bounty for being the first electric motorcycle team to record a 100 mph lap on the Mountain Course. The 2011 Isle of Man TT also had its share of tragedy with three racing fatalities.
