I'm listing this bike for my dad.  He's pretty old school.  Not very computer savvy.  This is my dad's 1992 R100r BMW.  My dad kept very meticulous service records of this bike.  It's in very good gorgeous condition.  My dad is 80 years old and still rides regularly however he has a hard time touching the ground on this bike anymore.  He pretty much just rides his xs650's and a Kawasaki 500 twin cruiser.  Those who know these bikes are familiar with the fact that they are quite rare and very collectible.  This particular bike is a fine example.

Up for auction is a beautiful 1992 BMW R100GS with only 9500 miles on the clock! These classic machines are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this sort of unmolested and super low mileage condition. This bike is all original and super clean.

Selling one very clean 1992 BMW R100R BMW with factory hard luggage, and 8600 original miles.  As you can see from the pictures, this is a very clean bike that is in exemplary condition, runs and rides like new and comes with original owners manuals and spare key.  Same owner for the last 16 years since 1400 miles.  Light cosmetic blemishes, please examine pictures.  It does leak a small amount of oil, I believe from the pushrod tube seals.  This is a 26 years old bike.  Left tank badge is peeling a little bit, and there are some small scuffs under the valve covers, but overall this is a very nice bike. To be paid within 7 days of purchase, buyer reponsible for shipping costs, but we are happy to assist in any way possible.  Sold as is.  Please call us at 503-805-2684 if you have any other questions.  Sold by Motorcycle Warehouse, Inc. DA2703  Located in Portland, Oregon.

I am selling my 1992 R100GS. I am the third owner and have had the bike for close to ten years. I have made many improvements over the years and have always done my best to keep the bike as original as possible.

  • BMW R100GSBMW R100GS (1992)
1992 BMW R100GS "Bumble Bee" - Very nice example of BMW's dual purpose bike.  This bike is loaded with extras.  Factory Saddlebags, auxillary outlet, tank bag, Custom leather seat.  Selling this for a customer who needs to move on to a new bike.  This is very low mileage for the year.  It appears to be in good mechanical condition.  It has had regular maintenance.  The oil changed every 3500 miles.  Ready to go to Alaska, or ride around town.  Motor is quiet.  Cosmetically, it is very nice.  Has minor chips here and there from wear and tare.   Previous sale fell through, so we are relisting. No warranties expressed or implied.  This is a used bike.  We reserve the right to sell to walk in customers. Perry's Motorcycles and Sidecars 816 South Sylvania Avenue Fort Worth, Tx.

1992 BMW R100R, slightly modified.  Modification was to install R100GS handlebars onto the bike for a more upright riding posture.  In doing so the following has been done; all new cables (choke, throttle, brake), new fork / head bearing, new front wheel bearing, new brakes, new tires (tire have less than 500 miles on them), seat was also reupholstered.  Approximately 57,750 miles.  Bike runs great.

Celebrating 50 years of luxo-touring Honda/Align Media It was the second and last lap around Barber Motorsports Park aboard the Candy Blue Green 1975 GL1000 Gold Wing graciously on loan from Dennis Doyle, the brother of Honda’s Northeast Press Fleet Specialist, Rob Doyle. 2024 Honda Transalp Review – First Ride

Fri, 03 Nov 2023

A European staple comes to America Photos by Align Media/Honda Adventure bikes weren’t really a thing in 1989, at least not in the United States. Even BMW’s venerable GS was nothing more than a misunderstood, oversized dual-purpose machine with ties to the Paris-Dakar rally, which itself was only a little more than a decade old at the time. At the back of the dealership where I worked in 1991, parked next to the tire rack, languished a 1989 Honda XL600V Transalp.

2024 Honda Motocompacto Review – First Ride

Wed, 01 Nov 2023

A cult classic scooter electrified and reimagined for Gen Z Photos: Honda/Wedrick Campbell It doesn’t take long to scoot around Honda’s US headquarters in Torrance, California to see how the new Motocompacto makes a lot of sense. Honda HQ is effectively a campus, with multiple buildings interlinked by arteries of short roads. Walking is the usual method people use to get around.

This modern version of the peppy lightweight scrambler has all the goodies of Honda’s current offerings, with all the style of the paired down desert racers of the past. 2023 Honda SCL500 The SCL500 is a mid-sized scrambler-style bike that is light, approachable with plenty of get up and go on the highways or in the canyons.
