Honda CT description

1973 Honda CT70 with approximately 7500 miles. Exact mileage is unknown as I think the previous owner added a new speedo (Current 2762).
3 speed semi auto gearbox (no clutch).
Capable of 38mph with 190lbs person onboard.
Original Blue plate, and registration just recently renewed.
Clear title and Pink Slip in Hand.
Well looked after.
I bought the bike and the motor was not running well. Since then it has had many new parts installed, and I brought it back to life.
Runs and idles great.
Ideal as a motor home/RV accessory, or just for fun in the summer to go to the shops on.
This bike attracts a lot of attention, and admirers.

New:
Mikuni 19mm Carburetor
Aftermarket cylinder head, piston, and barrel purchased from "T-Bolt USA" (orginal Honda ones included in the sale - need cleaning, minor work, and valves lapping)
Performance air filter and fuel filter
Spark Plug
Ignition points and alternator
Battery
Bridgestone Trail Tires

It's not perfect, but still in great overall condition as you can see by the pictures.
Great fun to ride around town (as I have been).
There are a few minor issues that need to be corrected if you are looking for perfection:
Exhaust is leaking slightly from a weld (needs re welding).
3 inch wide tear on the seat (original seat) at the back end.
Chain needs cleaning and re-oiling
Headlight bulb has gone, and I put a LED bulb in there as a temporary solution as they are sealed units.
Frame has some scratches

I'm selling the bike because I have just bought another new project bike, and only have space for one.

The vehicle will be sold as is, as seen by the buyer.

2011 Vyrus Moto2 Grand Prix Racer Preview

Fri, 14 Jan 2011

Motorbike cognoscenti recognize the Vyrus name, the Italian brand producing exotic sportbikes based on the amazing hub-center-steered Bimota Tesi. The Vyrus story begins when Bimota filed for bankruptcy in the early 2000s. Vyrus principal Ascanio Rodorigo, a former Bimota employee, began producing his version of the Tesi after Bimota let its patents expire while it was in bankruptcy.

Honda's latest Cub

Fri, 18 May 2012

Honda released their original C100 Super Cub way back in 1958 when other bikes at the time proved to be notoriously unreliable and difficult to ride. Since then, they have sold over 27 million C90s, with the step-through framed bike proving to be easy to ride and even easier to maintain. Looking like it's come straight from the film WALL-E, the new UNI-CUB might have two wheels but any similarity with a Honda C90 ends there.

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.
