Everyone is going to remember 2013 as the year Honda took the 450 class and blew it WIDE open with the totally redesigned CRF450R. Huge changes are going to jump out at you. First is the CRF450R’s all-new air-fork front suspension. Nearly two pounds lighter than a coil-spring fork, it offers easier adjustment, less internal friction, and even better handling. Next, an all-new twin-spar aluminum frame. You’ll see some big changes in the steering-head area. That’s because the frame is designed specifically to work with the new fork. Check out the CRF450R’s short radical new twin exhaust. The system moves the mufflers in way closer to the bike’s center of mass. They’re super short and compact, and work in perfect concert with the 2013 model’s new bodywork to make this the most flickable CRF450R ever! In fact, everywhere you look you’re going to see upgrades this year: The engine gets a new piston shape, porting, and valve timing, along with more compression for more power. The radiators are smaller and flow more air. The clutch is totally redesigned with six springs for better feel at the lever. Even the footpegs and tires get the Honda touch. Honda VIP Package Available For Indianapolis MotoGP
Mon, 12 Aug 2013For the 2013 Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP event, Honda is offering a VIP package it has never offered before. Plus there will be opportunities for fans to attend interviews with Repsol Honda riders Dani Pedrosa, Marc Márquez and LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl. Interviews with Pedrosa and Márquez will take place on Saturday from 4:30 to 4:45 pm on the Moto Midway Main stage, while Bradl and Livio Suppo, Repsol Honda Team Principal, will be interviewed at the Honda display tent (time to be determined).
2014 Honda CRF250R Announced
Tue, 14 May 2013Honda has completely overhauled its CRF250R motocross bike for 2014, offering an all-new engine and an aluminum beam frame inherited from the CRF450R. With a claimed weight of 231 pounds, the 2014 model is actually 4 pounds heavier than the 2013 model, but the new updates are designed to improve mass centralization, with Honda claiming it to be more flickable and nimble than before. According to Honda, the new frame weighs 20.6 pounds, while the main frame spars meet the steering head lower than on the previous frame, helping lower the center of gravity.
2013 Repsol Honda Team Livery Revealed
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Repsol Honda revealed the livery off its RC213V racebikes and leathers of riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez for the 2013 MotoGP season. The livery is again dominated by the colors of the team’s top sponsor, Spanish oil giant Repsol, but with more white and less black, particularly along the bottom of the fairing. The Repsol logos on the sides now slope downward toward the swingarm whereas the previous design had them rising up toward the seat.
