Honda’s awesome CRF450R has taken the lead in the four-stroke motocross revolution, and it’s still way out in front. To keep it there, we’ve given the king of the open class some serious updates for 2012. With a machine like this, anything less than perfection is unacceptable—and the 2012 CRF450R gives you the perfect balance of open-class Honda power, refined suspension, and the best brakes in the business. First, we’ve changed the rear shock linkage so you get a softer start and a stiffer finish. It responds to small bumps better, but still resists bottoming over really big hits. Fine-tuning the rear travel helps with steering during hard braking and on long, fast downhill sections. At the front, new fork outer tubes are stiffer for better feedback and superior tracking in heavy dirt, mud, and sand sections. New springs and suspension settings front and rear keep the balance right and increase steering precision. And we’ve even given the 2012 CRF450R wider, longer footpegs for better grip and comfort and fitted it with premium Dunlop MX51 tires for superior traction in corners and under acceleration. All in all, the CRF450R is the most dialed-in open-class MX bike we’ve ever rolled up to the start gate. 2014 AMA Superbike – Barber Results

The two wins moved Hayes to the top of the championship standings from third as the three-time champion put himself in good position to win a fourth. Race One The Monster Energy Graves Yamaha rider had a relatively easy Race One as several top rivals crashed on the hot Alabama track.
CARB Certifies 2015 Honda NC700X – Still No 750 Engine in Sight
Tue, 07 Oct 2014American consumers hoping Honda would replace its NC700X with the larger-displacement NC750X will be disappointed to know they might have to wait until the 2016 model year to get the 75cc engine upgrade. The California Air Resources Board has granted an executive for the 2015 Honda NC700X, certifying the motorcycle for sale in the state with the same 670cc engine displacement it had since being introduced in the 2012 model year. Now, this doesn’t mean Honda won’t decide to certify the 745cc engine after all; manufacturers resubmit and recertify models all the time, often replacing models are adding additional model using the same engine.
AMA Pro Flat Track Stars to Face Off in Ride Academy “Race of Legends”
Fri, 12 Apr 2013When the AMA Flat Track stars of today compete at the spring Springfield Mile, May 26 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, they will be joined by the stars of the past, taking part in the “Ride of Legends“. Hosted by the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association and Ride Academy, a riding school founded by multiple Grand National race winner Mike Hacker, the “Ride of Legends” exhibition race will feature several other past Grand National event winners racing each other on Honda dirt bikes. Joining Hacker will be Jay Springsteen, Joe Kopp, Rich King, Ronnie Jones, Steve Beattie, Steve Moorehead and Chris Carr.
