Honda CRF description

2011 Honda CRF450R, Enjoy the Weekend! - The bike that Redefined the Open Class. Motocross is a battle, and you’d better bring your "A" game whenever you show up—either that, or be prepared to eat a bucketful of roost. But when you’re on a 2011 Honda CRF450R it’s everyone behind you who’ll be savoring that dirt-flavored banquet. Why? Because we’ve given the CRF450R some serious upgrades. First, the 450 gets a new throttle body, new fuel injector, and new ECU mapping so the engine makes more low end and midrange torque, and also offers even better throttle response. The power is easier to control, but without any loss of top end—better than ever for intermediate and expert riders alike. And our chassis designers were just as busy, updating the CRF450R subframe and taking the opportunity to fine-tune the subframe's stiffness. A new rear shock link and lower shock mount for improved front/rear balance and better suspension action especially over square-edged bumps. And finally, new 2011 AMA rules state that every MX bike will have to meet the new 94 decibel rule. Both our CRF450R and CRF250R do that easily, thanks to a new exhaust system that works in conjunction with the new FI settings. So while the other guys might just change a muffler, that’s just where we started. And the first time the gate drops, it’s gonna show.

2013 Honda CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R Recalled in Australia

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Honda has recalled its 2013 CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R models in Australia because of a defect that could cause an oil leak. At the moment, no recall has been announced for the U.S., though there is a good possibility one will be announced shortly, as all 500-series models are manufactured in the same Honda factory in Thailand. There is a similar recall for the Japanese market for the CB400F, CB400X and CBR400R, which are mechanically identical to Honda’s 500-series models, but with a smaller engine to meet the country’s tiered licensing requirements.  According to the Australian and Japanese recall notices, the rocker arm shaft sealing bolt may come loose, causing oil to leak from the engine.

MotoGP Approves “Factory 2″ Rules

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

We’re just days away from the start of the 2014 MotoGP season and one would think it’s a little late for series organizers to make any significant rule changes. At least, one would think that if one were unfamiliar with the political back-and-forths going on between the major manufacturers and MotoGP promoter Dorna. But with the season-opening Qatar round about to begin, the Grand Prix Commission approved new rules establishing a compromise between the new Factory and Open options.
