selling my sons cr 125r - bike is mint condition - has near 55 hours on it - new top end just done six hours ago and no races on the new top end - bike was raced lightly (not beat the heck out of for sure) for about one season by my son at only 135 lbs the race hours are five hours total - the rest are from just play riding - Please note a raced bike is the best bike to buy since it is always meticulous kept up with and maintained 10 times as much as just a field / trail bike that would probably have about 300 hours on it and not maintained much at all that wears everything out not to mention this bike was not raced much at all and when it was it was not even raced hard) bike was bought new as a left over in mid 2008 - and sat for 4yrs with not much riding on it at all till mid 2012 - things recently done - pro suspension - new tires - top of the line chain sprockets - fmf pipe and silencer - vforce reeds and full kit - carb jetted also new clutch - lots of bearings just for fun - have about $400 of extra brand new parts - 2 new spare extra oversized radiators plus a lot of other spare parts - ran bike at 30-1 only pre-owned the best oils full synthetic two stroke and crankcase oil - bike / motor is perfect with no problems at all - bike is maintained every time pre-owned, runs perfect starts 1st kick all the time and rides good and fast for a 125 . Purchased this CR500 from the original owner. Bike was a pretty clean, low hour, original bike, but was looking a little tired cosmetically from woods/trail riding. Bike has just gone through a nice refurb/restoration. Frame was powder coated Flash Red (orange) and added new UFO Flash Red (90 Orange) plastics to match. Also refurbished a nice 1991 CR500 fuel tank. Frame, UFO plastics, and OEM tank colors match perfectly, bike shows of OEM quality inspired by the 1980's look! Added new transluscent colored OEM mud flap, fork guards, and DC plastics Honda Works HRC brake guard. Front UFO plate is white. Suspension was done w/ Race Tech Gold Valves and Race Tech springs (.46/kg front) and just serviced by EVO suspension; all new seals, bushings, oil, ect. New parts include: All Balls suspension linkage bearings, Scott grips, Renthal bar pad, racing reeds, NOS O'Neal racing pro style levers w/ OEM covers, OEM CRF450R bar clamps, air filter, CEET foam (stiff), nice repod seat cover, rear brake pads, OEM gas cap vent tube, Boyesen Factory stator/ignition cover and numerous OEM and aftermarket nuts/bolts. Bike has IMS wide footpegs, nice Renthal sprockets/ Renthal gold o-ring chain, Pro Circuit Platinum pipe w/ a few minor dents, FMF Powercore II silencer/spark arrestor, newer Dunlop MX51 front. Inner right clutch cover has been replaced, no water pump rot. When bike was disassembled everything was soda blasted, polished, ultrasonic cleaned, and greased. Anything that looked worn was replaced. Shined a flashlight in the exhaust port, cylinder and piston looked great, has good compression. Bikes been using Maxima 927 2 stroke oil. This is a very nice, clean, tight bike. Nothing was overlooked. This bike is ready to ride or take it to the next level and get some gold rims! Have a Washington State title. Up for auction is a 2005 honda CR500AF. It is in good condition. I just rebuilt the motor and did a port and polish on the cylinder. The shop that did the work said it should have about 75hp to the wheels. Carb is a 38mm. Has desert tank and lots of extra anodized aluminum parts throughout. Brand new plastic just put on a week ago. No scratches. New seat cover at the same time. Very fast bike. Head has been milled alittle but starts with ease. Bike has, new custom made seat cover, new wheels, new spokes, repainted hubs, new wheel bearings, new pro circuit pipe, new fork boots, new tires, new cables and levers, some new plastic (the other plastic is No longer available, repainted frame and cases, covers ect... I split the cases about 5 years ago and put in new bearings and seals, and a fresh top end, I was going to do some vintage racing but I have not ridden the bike since that was done. Bike was made to look like David Bailey's 86 and it does. Check out the period stickers. David has also signed the front number plate. I probably have over $9000.00 invested in this bike. The only part I have not been able to find is a new front brake line. This one functions fine but is weathered and ugly. 45,367 Motorcycle Thefts Reported in US in 2013
Tue, 10 Jun 2014Americans reported 45,367 stolen motorcycles in 2013, down 1.5% from 2012, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau‘s latest Motorcycle Theft and Recovery Report. According to the NICB motorcycle thefts have been on the decline every year since 2007 when 65,678 motorcycles were reported stolen, though the overall trend appears to be leveling off. Japanese motorcycles continue to be the most popular target for thieves.

The New Fastest Electric Motorcycle Lap, With John McGuinness + Video
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Earlier this week, John McGuinness won the single-lap TT Zero electric motorcycle race at the Isle of Man TT aboard his Mugen Shinden San. In the process, the 21-time TT winner smashed the old lap record of 109.675 mph, setting an average speed of 117.366 mph from a standing start. To put that in perspective, McGuinness’ teammate, Bruce Anstey, aboard a sister Mugen, set the outright lap record earlier this week aboard his Honda CBR1000RR superbike of over 132 mph.

Molyneux and Farrance won the race by a good 44-second margin but they benefited greatly from a mechanical problem plaguing early race leaders John Holden and Andrew Winkle.

Dunlop also joins sidecar racer Robert Fisher, Ian Lougher and Stanley Woods with 10 wins apiece, all tied for seventh overall on the all-time wins list. Riding his MD Racing Honda CBR600RR, Dunlop got off to a strong start, recording a time of 17:55.817 on the opening lap, giving him a 4.6-second advantage over fellow Honda rider Bruce Anstey.
