MotoGP to Hold Official Test in Argentina; South American Nation Returning to Calendar for 2014

Dorna Sports announced there will be a MotoGP test at Argentina’s Circuito Internacional Termas de Rio Hondo in July to allow teams to prepare for the track’s expected addition to the 2014 MotoGP calendar. Argentina was actually supposed to join the MotoGP tour this season, but the round was scrapped because of a dispute between the country and Spain after the Argentine government seized control of a Repsol subsidiary. Repsol is, of course, a prominent sponsor of several teams including Honda‘s factory team.

Marc Marquez Breaks Leg in Training Crash

Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has broken his right fibula in a dirt-track training session. Marquez, who had a remarkable 2013 campaign to win the MotoGP title as a rookie, will need up to a month to recover, which should just about make him available for the 2014 season opener March 23 in Qatar. Honda Reports Q3 2011-2012 Results

Honda reported a 41% decrease in net income over the third quarter, thanks primarily to the rising Japanese yen, continuing effects from the Japanese earthquake and floods in Thailand interrupting automobile production. Thanks to recovering auto sales and growing motorcycle sales in emerging markets, Honda reported a net profit of 47.6 billion yen (US$624 million) in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011.
